    i will be coming directly from work and will be running a few minutes late for our saturday meeting probably. i uploaded the newest build of megamek to the dropbox so you can at least have that ready to go. you can get it from the download links thread. i will join you guys asap.

    Saturdays drop went fairly well. It took us awhile to get everyone into the lobby and some had to have a little orientation on the rules, but once that was out of the way, we were able to start the game very quickly. Both teams put up a great fight; all but Crave's Toro had at least one section destroyed on their mech. Megamek apparently crashed on us near the end, but the game was pretty much decided by that point anyway.

    We started the game around 1pm EST and finished roughly 3.5 hours later... not bad for 6 people. However, as we get more familiar with the game mechanics, let's try to focus on deciding our moves more quickly. Regardless... great (and close) game everyone! :D

    Sunday Marathon results:

    This one was a long one, but 33 rounds of megamek in ~4.5 hours is actually REALLY good.

    Decided to run some more tests. Wanted to see how new bot behaviors worked. Princess is much smarter assuming she moves after you (most of the time). She is smart enough to minimize damage that can be done to her; she will attempt to hide behind cover to block LOS when she is over-exposed. She also seems to assign different "personalities" to mechs; some are more brave/stupid and some behave like cowards. I will continue to tweak these settings until I find something that works a bit better (need to get Princess to not spread out so much).

    No serious bugs encountered and no crashes of server for the entire game! :hatchetbump:

    also, for those concerned about how long it has been taking to get started, a big part of that has to do with a lot of time spent setting up characters. if you guys can "pre-load" your characters into the megamek game lobby and save your character and mech as a .mul file (to somewhere you can find it later), this will greatly speed up the process.

    helpful tips:

    -When you see 4/5 for gunner/piloting in the megamek lobby, remember that is your skill MODIFIERS, not your levels
    (more info on the formula can be found on the character creation sheet: <target #> - <skill level> = <modifier>)
    -Tactics Skill Level = "Commander Initiative": set number according to your level
    -Leave "Initiative Bonus" at zero
    -Set Edge to 1 and select the triggers you wish to apply it to (there are four of them)
