There was a funny comic about how difficult it was playing Tie Fighter and trying to complete the secret missions. Too bad I can't find it.
I remember (it was x-wing vs tie fighter don't remember if they could take the same damage in x-wing) somehow I survived a mission (in an x-wing) after getting hit over 60 times by a victory destroyer while still dogfighting. every system indicator was out and i was putting almost all laser energy into my shields so i could only get 1 or 2 powered down quad bursts off before i had to shunt the energy into my shields. it was pretty much a once in while thing that happened. it was solo so somehow all the NPC ships were taken out already and it was my lone x-wing against a bunch of ties so i couldn't get out of the vic's range without dyeing. i had to fight close to it. it may have been an imperial destroyer now that i think about because i don't remember any missiles. so either it was a vic and i had taken out the missile launchers or it fired whatever it had. or it was an imp.

I caved and bought TIE Fighter this morning. Goodbye free time. TM16000M works perfectly, no key rebinding though
MORE classic Star Wars games coming to GOG! I'll almost certainly have to get XWvsTIE. Dark Forces was pretty awesome too for its day.
I may pick up galactic battlegrounds and KOTORII as well. I really enjoyed those. That's all I need, more games to not play.
