Been a while since I posted in here. But I've been working on my new Infinity (by Corvus Belli) project. I'm going for a style similar to their studio painter, who is pretty good . Painting with his level of detail takes very loooong time, and the model below have been in progress for around 40 hours so far, but it's finally coming together, so here's a few sample pictures of the current state. One of the reasons painting is slow progress is because I'm learning new techniques (fx non-metallic painting). Main body (I will be making more battledamage on the armor. top part will be finished when arms are attached): Arms (Shieldarm is mostly finished, apart from battledamage to the shoulderplate): And Finally the base (repainted the floorplate to be more irregular (right side pic), still needs a few tufts as well on the ground part): I will hopefully be able to post pics of the finished model before I pack up and move out of town.
Amazing, the red base really makes the green pop! I bought the red veil starter and was thinking of painting Haislam first, but I joined a slow grow as PanOceania (first game tomorrow) so will probably try to work on those guys first. Now I want to paint... Just need to wait for some good weather for priming.
Nice, I'm also just got my Red Veil box Really nice models! Yeah, I went for a Mars-like theme to spif up the Ha colourscheme. Also I managed to finish the HMG arm on the Azrail, and get both arm attached. Still some painting to go tho.
Yeah, everything has shadows, fading, and light highlights, but then this back plate is there... with nothing..
everyone's a critic... might go over it lightly with some ink to darken it a bit and accentuate the contours... (<---- no exception)
maybe he wanted it to look like plastic dicks? That seems a tad specific, don't you think? Also, in that circumstance you might want to choose a flesh tone, instead XD edit: Unless you're going for orc dicks.
Hey, DarKteleFaX, I'm just now finally getting round to painting that haislam starter... do you have any guide that says what the official colour scheme is supposed to be? I haven't been able to find anything online... How did you do the green on the power armour, and what did you do for the infantry models (if you don't mind sharing)?
Got the Wh Quest: Silver Tower box to play with kids as they are growing up. I'm hoping to have the set painted over the next few years so that by the time they can grasp the rules better I'll also have the pieces done! My first set of miniatures ever and also looking at 30k and 40k sets and drooling. Really dived into the lore too for 40k. Amazing detail DarKteleFaX !
I won a contest and got this cool Exiles starter set. Now I just need friends to play with. Now I just need friends. My initial impressions are of a more freeform HeroQuest, from a read-through of the rules. http://www.belloflostsouls.net/2016/08/showcase-exiles-from-mindworm-games.html
I picked up the WH40K Kill Team box set, going to try it out and try to get some friends interested. I'm almost more interested in modeling and painting than actually playing.
If you like models, stay away from ForgeWorld. That's a black hole. I'm really tempted to pick up the new Blood Bowl, but again, ain't got people to play with.
I check out Forge World every Friday to see the new releases. Never buy anything (yet.....) but their stuff is so freaking cool. Heresy marine models FTMFW
