Hoth.. Check Walkers... Check Rebels getting but kicked.. Check Character to old to start Jedi training but starts anyway.. Check Master Jedi wary about training the Jedi recruit.. Check Recruit Jedi runs off to save the day. Check Jedi recruit gets but kicked.. Check Someone gains a prosthetic.... Maybe?!
I'm betting after his students were killed luke either ended up going to the dark side for a short time or he is now gray and uses both light and dark side powers. or both happened. Which I'm pretty sure is what yoda and obi-wan always intended for him to do is be gray and not be wholly light and restart the JEDI order. Maybe start an order but not be jedi.
The last one was a big dumb movie with lots of stolen concepts from New Hope. I'm waiting for the reviews before even considering this one. What I'm hoping for is something a bit more grounded and revealing of the universe like Empire Strikes Back. Hopefully we will get less nonsensical plot threads, more satisfactory answers, and less "mystery box" this time (Fuck you, JJ).
well fuck. i feel sorry for the fans. I'd probably lose my shit if JJ somehow ended up directing a Battletech movie.
Nope, I liked it too. Echoing the first movie was pretty lazy but the characters made up for it. It's not the best Star Wars movie but it's nowhere near the worst.
It was okay. It actually is not a great movie solely from a character developement standpoint. I actually think if episode 7 was a persons firat exposure to star wars that person probably would not care at all about star wars.
the same could probably be said about all of the prequal trilogy though Edit: except for maybe clone wars, limited Binks exposure and awesome muppet lightsaber fights.
Luke transformed from a typical backwoods farmer to dependable fighter pilot that was able to use the force through guidance by a Jedi master to destroy a giant planet killing laser station. Rey transformed from a can do bad ass that flies the millennium falcon to can a do bad ass that uses the force in ways only a master can but does it with zero training. Stacking menial badassery on top of more menial badassery just makes for shit character development and writing.
My favorite theory on rey is still that she has no biological parents. She is a bottle baby and clone of luke (x-23 is a clone of logan same deal). Because they haven't said anything about lukes hand that he lost in episode 5. Someone has to have recovered the hand. They got the lightsaber.
