I told them as much by e-mail, they replied

read as 'we didn't bother to read through your email and simply massmailed this to everyone who said something against this decision'

 

I kept it polite, I was hoping they might actually read it, but of course I didn't expect them to. *shrug*

 

I would think somewhere in the 40-60% range is a safe bet. Even 40% is alot of their money.

Epic did say they would cover refunds from Kickstarter projects. But MW 5 is not kickstarter. So I'm fairly certain Epic is not helping/covering the refunds here. Yes I know PGI said they were covering them.

But look at this way. Epic Exclusive = beta test for steam launch.

 

Epic is not covering the refunds, per drunk Russ.

 

I did the same when i requested my refund. Very politely told them why I wanted a refund (Epic), and that I would reconsider purchasing the game assuming it survives the Epic exclusivity period. They gave me an almost identical response. I can only imagine how many refunds.... it has to hurt, even if it is just their pride.

 

They have to have expected refunds. But they were probably only expecting a few hundred. If it's a few thousand that's gotta be really demoralizing. Might cause an exodus at PGI. Also PGI does have a D- on the BBB.

 

Because that totally does something and is very much paid attention to.

 

I'm wondering how the hell they have a 2.9 rating on glass door. Must be the beer fridays.

maybe they're not terrible at being an employer, just terrible at being a company?

 

Mostly just terrible at community relations, really.

 

I'm beginning to wonder if mw5 will release on steam at all at this point. With the way they repeat, over and over, how "committed" they are. Since when have PGIs "commitments" been more than a fart in the wind? I put more effort into this post than I did my refund request.

 

Sounds more like they just are confusing themselves. I can't see why anyone would intentionally keep themselves off other platforms. Especially when they have to know they have far more sales numbers on steam. Unless they are just that delusional.

And it sounds more like with the deferring preorders till steam they just don't want to buy/generate steam keys for those people (aka they don't want to put in the effort).

 

I think they're not doing it because they don't know what kind of support they'll be able to offer for the game in a year.

 

Assuming PGI is still around. I think MW 5 will but maybe not PGI.

 

Got my refund.

I feel... bummed. But I had no interest in going over to Epic and thought it was a terrible decision by Russ. But I'm not so much frustrated at this point as just disheartened.
