I have definitely gone through the full swing from "so excite for launch day!" to "possible -80% Steam Summer Sale years down the line situation".

I have way more games to play than time to play them....if I am not supporting the wider BT community with a preorder...then it can wait.

If PGI ends up closing (not before MW 5 comes out on steam). I fully expect a rant from Russ blaming all of the backers.

Yes I expect PGI to survive till then (mid 2021) but nothing to base that off of. As they currently are. If Russ goes they would probably survive longer.

So mod support on EGS is slated for early 2020. But EGS has pushed back everything on their roadmap at least a month. So mod support probably won't be out till mid 2020.

Apparently EGS has missed store roadmap goals multiple times.

I think autocorrect changed it from 2020 (pretty certain I kept hitting 20w0, w instead of 2) to 200.

Or I could be using some weird time reference that is not B.C., A.D., B.C.E, C.E.

Huh. Apparently MWO is in maintenance mode (basically no longer in development) at least till MW 5 is released. Who knows if they will update MWO anymore.

I got the impression during the MW5 AMA that it wasn't "cost effective" to put money in to MWO

All signs point to that being the case. The official statement is MWO servers will stay up for the foreseeable future; any purchases made in it will help keep the servers going... but they will probably not be producing much new content for it. The focus is on MW5 at this point. Personally, I'm fine with that if MW5 can deliver a solid solo and coop experience. We shall see.

At least no content till after MW 5 comes out. Maybe not till after steam launch.

I would bet that they haven't got a whole lot of resources to throw around and I would assume they really want to put all their eggs in the basket that MW 5 will succeed. While singe player is significantly easier to make than any multiplayer thing or content, single player shifts the burden from "oh man this is a technical and balancing nightmare" to "oh man, there's so much routine content and work to churn out and to test that it all follows standards while also ensuring that the experience itself is great".

I'm quite excited by the prospect of a big money mech game coming out and that being an actual MW IP while at it. That's definitely not something that happens every day!

Not sure if these images are the most up to date but they are probably fairly recent.

posted on facebook. Is it just me or do they look really unrefined? Or looks dated like this is from a game from a few years ago?

Not really a pixel snob here, so it looks fine to me. I care more about code stability and gameplay. If those are solid and the physics are solid, it will look plenty fine enough.

That being said, the smoke trails admittedly do look a little basic, though.

Looks low res. But graphical polish isn't always top priority in a development build.

I will say the lighting effects look good though. It's texture on the materials and foliage that are lackluster.

The terrain is not perfect, neither is the smoke. The PPC beam is not emitting light to the environment.

I'd kill for art of that caliber. If there's a thing I can't stand it is that my programming is associated with the level of art that is available due to cost reasons, but one day... One day....

Anyway, I think it looks amazing. I haven't had a lot of time to play games as of late and I've been surrounded by so much substandard art that just to see a PC game these days makes me go "woah, man, are you saying we've been to the moon?" :D :D

Quick question, do they have VR and HOTAS support, is it going to be built like an FPS in the vein of MWO?
