If you've ever used the MX518 and it wore out on you then you've very likely been searching the internet with varying levels of success for another. I am grateful that I still have mine working. After 5 years of VERY heavy gaming it still works better than my expectations. Unfortunately the main big buttons are starting to wear out from use. FIVE years!!

Yet there is HOPE! Just as I begin my search for a new mouse with a heavy heart. Logitech (hopefully) saves the day! April 19th Logitech releases the G400! An upgraded MX518 for the extremely reasonable price of $50.

Just thought I'd share that with ya'll.

You could spring the few extra bucks and go G500... for two extra buttons :D I've got on, really enjoy it.

G500 here too, been running it for about three or four years. Only thing that's beginning to show wear so far are the skates, thinking about getting new ones. They're not worn down, but getting a bit too scratched to work well.

Best mouse I've ever used was undoubtedly the razer mamba, the buttons on it were simply amazing and it tracked great. Unfortunately, Razer also makes the worst mice evahr when it comes to quality. It could suddenly stop working on one axis, or jump to a corner of the screen, or getting jittery, or the buttons stopped working.

In a perfect world, we'd have a razer mouse with logitech quality :)

I have a 'gaming' mouse with like 6 buttons, unfortunately my hand can only really click 4 of them without making really awkward contortions (its a razer something something). I'm thinking of switching, mostly 'cause I'd like a mouse that can control the sensitivity on the fly

Anyone know a good lefthanded mouse for us freaks? Currently i have "wrong" handed logitec and it's a pain to find a lefty on this right handed world + current won't last hgn levelling.

Tried googling but got mixed results: razer or amphidexterious logitec. So i'm willing to take recommendation and save meself lots of research.

Such a thing would implode the universe should it exist. BTW, G500 has adjustable DPI on the fly, up to five levels, custom set by the control panel addition. Plus, at least for my big mitts, the buttons are fairly easy to reach.

Oh, man. What I would give for a DPI switch that wasn't on the bottom of my mouse...

I've been a fan of the larger variety(mx1000 and mx1100) and recently got the g700. Only good things to say so far, you can save different profiles on the mouse and switch both profiles and dpi on the fly. I also find all buttons easy to reach, and I've got fairly short stubby fingers :D.

I've got a sharkoon drakonia which I have found really good for accuracy, weight and feel but the software for profiles is balls and two of the buttons are for people with larger hands than my delicate lady-like digits so they are only good for launching LRMS where "unintentional crosshair readjustment" doesn't matter so much.
I've only had it for a couple of months so couldn't vouch for it's survivability. This was also my first foray into gaming mouse purchases so I didn't go all the way quality-wise. I am a prodigal son dragged back to PC gaming by MWO after many years wandering the console wastelands.

I am guessing you need to move like lightning on that sucker mid-game. Next time we drop, I will look for the tell-tale wild torso twisting that tells me you are about to aim at something real good.

I just got a Vengeance M60 and I'm liking it. You can adjust the DPI on the fly, and it has a "sniper" mode that slows down your DPI at the press of a button. It only has a couple of buttons, but they're all comfortable to press.

I'm on a QPAD 5K LE - It's a wonderful gaming mouse, it just feels right and the build quality is great.

I'm a convert from an MX518...which is on my secondary Computer/Laptop KVM Connection right now because I CANNOT BEAR to get rid of the thing...it's probably going on something like 8 years of daily use now without a single issue to show for it.

R.A.T. 7 here from Corsair/MadCat. The adjustability is pretty nice, but it feels and looks NOTHING like a Mouse however. It's still an excellent mouse device. Full adjustability (DPI Switch is right under the back pad of the middle finger when you have index on left and middle on right) to 5 DPI settings and it can go up to 5600 DPI and down to something like 300 DPI.

Sniper button as well (why don't all mice have these things? This is just FROM GOD) but it's slightly hard to press without moving the mouse...still, this ONE feature is worth the cost of the upgrade. The left scroll has NO effects what-so-ever...doesn't work in applications, have no need in games. The weight management is great and you can definitely make this thing feel good in your hands.

That said there is a problem with the 7 (and it seems to be a well known problem and affects ONLY the 7), the mouse will lose Horizontal tracking regularly. I'm finding (after reading about it) that the mouse is EXCEPTIONALLY sensitive to dust/debris in the laser iris and TYPICALLY blowing on the under eye clears the tracking problem completely for quite some time...still, it can get REALLY annoying really quickly.

From a shear looks perspective, it DEFINATELY makes my gaming rig stand out. It's the first comment I always get: "What's that?" (pointing at mouse)...that's AWESOME.

Takes some getting used to, and the tracking issues can get annoying. I would have gone with the R.A.T. 9 (wireless, which doesn't have the tracking issue) but I keep hearing the batteries last almost NO time. Given how often I'm plugging in my Corsair Headset (wireless gaming headset) I might go nuts swapping batteries on the RAT...even with the tracking issues I'm kinda glad I got the 7.

The razer deathadder is a very good mouse, and they make that in a version just for lefties. That's the only really good mouse just for the left handed I know of. SteelSeries Sensei or Sensei RAW are ambidextrous and very good, with a great feel, build quality and all the options/performance you could want. The Sensei is their high-end model, while the Sensei RAW is a stripped down version of the same mouse that doesn't have an led or support as many on-board profiles, but is lighter. There's a rubberized version and a glossy version of the RAW. The rubberized version has a better feel to it IMO and doesn't show grime or smudges the way a glossy surface will. So those are a few decent options.

Love my Razer Lachesis. As a left-hander, my options are limited.

Oh long forgotten thread, I command you to rise from your place of rest and come forth to the realm of relevance once more...

Alright folks, I'm looking for a new gaming mouse. My deathadder is dying on me, and it's my second one to do so in less than three years. I treat my equipment very well, and I will not buy Razer this time around.

The current contenders I'm looking at are all Logitech:
    -g400s
    -g500s
    -g700S

I am looking for opinions from any who have these mice. Currently I am considering the 400 and 700 as the forerunners, favoring the 400.

To those who may have personal experience with the 400:
    How is the durability?

To those who may have personal experience with the 500:
Have any of you also used the 400? If so how would you say they compare.
What do you like about it?

To those who may have personal experience with the 700:
My biggest concern with this mouse is the battery life. I know that it can be used as a wired mouse with the charging cable plugged in, but many of the things I have read suggests that it is stiff to the point of restricting movement. What has been your experience with playing while it is plugged in, and how long is the cable?

Also, if any of you are using another mouse that you feel strongly about, feel free to suggest other mice I have not considered (so long as they are not Razer).

I use a Logitech G600, 20 buttons. It's a MMO gaming mouse and customizable. I've had it for 6 months and I like it. :)

I loved my G700, right up until the scroll wheel broke from getting hit in my luggage traveling with work. After that I started also getting some weird unrequested commands from it as well that would cause issues, not sure what brought that on but it was a sad day when I was forced to toss it into my scrap electronics bin.

The mouse is quite comfortable for me and the ability to toggle the scroll wheel between free wheeling and traditional is great when working with documents and long web pages. Even going through lists in itunes was so much more enjoyable with it. While the cord isn't the softest out there I tend to use an extra large loop on my desk to keep it from ever being tight forcing me to move more than about 12in of it.

I came really close to buying another one but I wanted to try out some of the other gaming mice out there. In the end I went with the Saitek/cyborg MMO 7 for its increased number of buttons and sniper button (cuts the normally selected DPI in half when pressed great for photo editing when you need to really be precise) I've enjoyed this mouse but I really wish that it had the selectable scroll wheel but I do enjoy the second thumb scroll on my MMO 7 for working in photo editing programs. The ability to customize the shape and size is really nice as well. My normal setup is with the pinky rest on it and then the palm rest all the way extended out with full weight load in it.

Part of me is thinking about getting another g700 or gx for my laptop because they are really awesome for a daily used mouse.
