Runs and runs strong. Puts about 130 hp to the wheel, tops out over 160, 11 second 1/4 mile. This ain't my daddy's Harley. And it handles like a naked bike. Best bike the motor company ever made.
i'm sporting the 2013 Kia Rio Hatchback... it fits all i need for a week of camping, doesn't do too poorly on the highway, has awesome handling in the ice age winter cleveland just had, but it's a little puddle jumper. a lot of my friends ride, but i don't think i'll ever get on just two wheels, with no frame around me.
Skwi, I plan on being over your way(ish) next year. Kinda wanna take the Mini on the Dragon. Once it finally gets here. Some asshole couldn't accept what they had on the lot. Fucking sunroofs.
The dragon is awesome, also screw sunroofs, have to go get another track assembly next week to hopefully stop the constant leaking. If not I'm sealing the thing until I can swap roof panels on the car.
Exactly why I didn't want one. +$1250 to the price of the car for something that always ends up leaking. No thanks, I'll pull off the road and lay on the hood if I want to look at the stars or clouds.
Fiat wanted I think 900 for a sunroof. So gimmicky in my opinion and they don't really do anything. My 300zx has T-Tops which I love the hell out of. Wish they would bring them back in some of the more sportier coupes. A BRZ with T-Tops would be awesome.
T-tops were the shit. It was a good blend of convertible and hard top and they almost always looked good.
X2 on the Dragon. It's a fantastic road for a bike. I'd think it would be quite a bit of fun in a sporty car, but a stick shift might get a little tedious. One of the best things about the Dragon is that it's mostly off the beaten path for non-motorcycle tourists, unlike most of the other good roads in the area where you'll be constantly getting stuck behind a minivan from Iowa doing 15-20 mph
Just be sure you go on a weekday. If it's a pretty weekend there is way too much traffic to have any fun.
Well I was planning on doing the Minis on the Dragon event the first week of May, so at least the traffic will look good. If any Borg members are in the area, I'd be down for grabbing a drink or something and seeing the sights. I only plan on one day of running the Dragon, and probably a couple days of vacationing and doing touristy stuff. Like visiting my bear family in the mountains and getting some berry moonshine.
Be sure to visit the Ole Smokey moonshine distillery in Gatlinburg! I'm sure I'll be around (only a couple hours away) since I don't ever get silly things like vacation.
Will do. Perhaps we could even convince someone in a very cheesy place to take a hiatus and bring his Mini down and turn it into a Borf meetup.
Update: Mini is built and waiting for a boat to bring it across the Atlantic. Which means I should have it in two weeks or so. I've already started looking into upgrades for it like a new intake and a stiffer rear sway bar. Not sure how I feel about a new exhaust system though. I've already had two loud cars and I think I want something more mature and quiet. And BMW has apparently already put a decent exhaust system on it stock (as far as flow is concerned) so it may be a large chunk of money for a small upgrade.
It's hilarious seeing idiots around here that throw a fart can on the end of their exhaust system, and think that because they are louder, they go faster... then I pull up beside them in my little '01 VW Golf TDI and kick their asses of the line, and for the next kilometre.
Ork mentality my friend. And while it works for the Orks in 40k, it just makes the people who cut off their cat or slap a blow master on their pos cars look like tools.
Have you ever seen a giddy bear? Tell him his car is on a boat and you'll see one. Hopefully her trip across the ocean is a safe one and I can go zoom zoom in a week or two.
