not yet, I can't imagine they'll leave germans out. but yeah, they announced early on that they wouldn't do subs. too hard to make fun to play and also be balanced.
You know, its funny. I don't think any weapon in the history of war has been designed to be balanced.
I think they scrapped ships for Warthunder from what I heard, they're trying to put it all into one game which makes it hard.
Humble Bundle is running an epic deal right now, and included in the deal is WoWS Beta Access with a prem ship and prem time/currency if anyone is interested! I picked it up for the other games and I don't need the beta key so first come first serve: F93KG-SDPUY-RPHFS-VT2MK ***This is just the beta access key, (I used the bonus content code for myself) and only works for the NA server!***
I do play this sometimes. I think it is promising. They also started with the best theater of the war for surface warfare. To be fair to the devs, submarines were not part of fleet engagements basically ever so excluding them fits. I am just a bit peeved about their faction introduction order. Japan/US is a good start but then they are going to do Russia THEN Britain and I personally think UK should be next, they have one of the most interesting lineups in history and I'd love to see their ships first. Russian ships are a bit lacking.
especially with how most of their ships were destroyers. they didn't have many cruisers or battleships. I think most of their fleet was submarines and mine sweepers and such. they were more of a brown water/coastal navy during WW II. at least at the beginning. they weren't a blue water navy like japan, the US or UK. as far as I can tell russia only had 4 battleships. and one of them was the HMS royal sovereign (renamed something appropriately russian.) and all of them were pre-world war I ships.
probably. I think the baltic fleet was trapped by mines. and so was one of the other fleets. north sea or something maybe black see? the pacific fleet didn't fight the japanese really untill 1945. at least not officialy. maybe a few skirmishes.
Most of the Russian navy was destroyed at the Battle of Tsushima in 1905. A large part was also destroyed during the revolution. Taken from wiki but should give an ok overview Also, im playing this game on the NA server
It's going to be a F2P game eventually. Right now, you can pay so that you can get into the closed beta but eventually it will become free.
