I really want to get in on this, but I'm nervous about pre-ordering after the mixed reviews I've heard/seen about Rome 2. I really hope the game mechanics are closer to Shogun 2.
I wont touch this game until I know for a fact there is no (or a way to disable) anything akin to the "Imperium" system. I refuse to let the fucking game dictate my play style like that.
Yeah, that especially. I never actually played Rome 2 or experienced the "Imperium" system, but from everything I've heard it was terrible. I can't honestly fathom why they thought such a significant departure from Shogun 2's winning formula was a good idea. Honestly, the only negative thing I can remember about Shogun 2 was that the computer very obviously cheated on harder difficulties. As far game mechanics go, they should have improved that and diplomacy AI before adding anything else. Really hope this new TW avoids the same mistake. I guess I will probably have to wait for the reviews.
Bretonnia will intially not be avaible in the grand campaign but they will be playable in custom games with a limited roster.
Good news everyone It is now official that the game has mod support. Mods like co-op campaing with two different lords playing in same factions. Maybe there will be skaven too?! Source:
