    Huh. Going off this image (I believe it is a grasshopper) it looks like the scaling might be better in MW 5. I mean it is still probably making mechs larger than they should be. But it looks closer.

    Saw somewhere that they (PGI) has talked to Epic and Epic is NOT interested in exclusivity for MW 5. Could be MW 5 will just be on every PC at launch. Also I don't know how long ago that was. Could be different. If they do the exclusive route I bet they will do what pheonix point did. All backers/preorders will get at least 2 keys (1 for epic 1 for steam once the 1 year ends).

    there is no excuse for epic exclusivity. None. If I had preordered in a game and was told I wouldn't be able to play for a year because they signed some bullshit -after- I preordered? They'd be hearing from my lawyer next.

    Supposedly they get enough money from epic to cover demanded refunds and fund the game even further. But it has to so seriously cut sales that the game will be forgotten about by the time it comes to all the platforms everyone actually wants the game on (whether it's steam, GoG or something else).

    It would be a massive dick move to go Epic exclusive at this point after all the community good will they have built up in the past year or two. Or maybe they are desperate for funds and looking at all their options? Either way, I don't see the move to Epic exclusive working out in their favor. Also, I'm not going to worry about something based on hearsay... and none of you should either.

    I'm not worried about Epic exclusive mostly because they want the game to be very mod friendly. Going epic throws that out the window.

    Again... let's not put the cart before the horse. Do we even know if pre-orders would be forced to download from Epic? There are a lot of pieces that need to fall into place before that happens. I'm with Fet on this: PGI going with an Epic exclusive is a complete 180* from everything they've said up to this point. We've all seen devs do it before, but I would be shocked if PGI didn't understand how disastrous that would be... especially after all the good-will they've tried to build from the BT community as of late.

    The only scenario where I see PGI going Epic exclusive is if they are broke and completely desperate to save the company (which can happen to even the best developers). And if that is the case... well... we will have to make the best of it.

    Either way, it's too early to say at this point.

    Which I think they were going to have their own downloader anyways for the game straight from them. Like MWO I believe you can download directly from them. You don't need Steam. So even if they did an Epic exclusidve deal (I don't think they would. I think everyone is just freaking out over a cleaning of the FAQ. will have to wait till next friday) I think it is fine if they have their own download.

    Probably most people who want the game only want it on steam or GoG. And now they will probably wait till it is on sale. Sure Epic might have that 70% goes to the developer while steam is 30% but now they are only going to get 30% of whatever the sale price is.

    I don’t blame anyone who wants a refund, and I don’t hold it against anyone who wants to stick it out for a stompy robot game.

    I had really hoped that they weren’t going to do this, but I should have known better I guess. Hopefully the demand for refunds isn’t so bad as to get it canceled like the Transverse debacle was. I’ll have to go through everything carefully when I get up tomorrow but I’m not thrilled with this prospect. I would have thought the bad PR from other developers going exclusive with epic would have scared them away but this is PGI we are talking about and directly insulting their customers is a tried and true tradition.

    Probably getting switched to epic. All the preorders are epic now. MWO stuff you keep (if you redeemed it) even if you get a refund.

    They might pull a Phoenix point and change real fast. Preorders (for Phoenix point) before epic announcement get the epic key and a steam or GoG key.

    So I would say wait a day or two (or week) before doing anything. Because PP at the announcement did not have that. They changed it within a day.

    Well screw it I’m out. What was basically the perfect game for what I wanted to play isn’t worth it to now have my preorder locked to Epic. If there was an option to hold out for a year for the steam key they originally had in their faq might have been worth it with keeping the dlc from preordering it. At this point I’m planning on submitting the refund ticket in the morning.

    There is no direct way to request a refund on the site, you have to email support for it. The full FAQ section spells everything out in an unfortunate clarity.

    I am starting to wonder if epic games is "forcing" some games to exclusivity. Because they do own the Unreal Engine (because the founder created unreal engine).

    Still not an excuse.
