Where they left off there was about to be a sort of world war instigated by Nazarick so it's a pretty foregone conclusion that'll kick off in the first episode. No official release date other than "this year" but most of the stuff I've read expects it in fall, which seems about right to me as well since they just announced it.

Just watched Over the Sky. I went in not knowing anything, even that this existed, but it's reminiscent of a Miyazaki film. Somewhere between Whispers of the Heart and Spirited Away. Really, really good film if you want something kinda mystical and kinda romantic.
yeah I'm not sure what the writer/s intention is with the slave thing, I mean, from a historical perspective it's not too far different from vowing allegiance to your liege or the shogun as might be of more correct perspective, but the magical enforcement adds a whole other layer of twisted loyalty.
It's kinda interesting since Naofumi is the chew toy of the show. He's definitely not a good person but the rest of the cast are complete monsters. I wonder if it's just a fetish thing or of it's something deeper--a commentary on whether the ends justify the means. Either way, it's actually a fun show if you like isekai. Naturally none of the characters actually exist so it's really no worse than Goku getting the everloving crap kicked out of him on a regular basis.
Watchin' Dragon Ball GT for the first time since Funimation's shows are on Crunchyroll now. I'm not quite sure why this gets such a bad rap. It's very much like the original Dragon Ball. The thugs that kidnapped Goku to try extorting money from the Briefs were hilarious--nobody gave the eighth part of a crap about it, and being Goku the very first thing he did was eat them into soul-crushing debt.
I like DBGT better than Z or Super, easily. I thought GT really captured the feel of Dragonball better and brought back the charm that was almost completely gone in Z.
Crunchyroll has a prequel of the next season of Dr. Stone up. Ryusui rivals Senku for most over-the-top enthusiastic character. He's basically if Senku's knowledge was converted 1:1 to instinct.
Idk man. Shield hero was awesome and he aint a perv. I'd go for slaves too when everyone around you is a bunch of cunts. At least hes not some weird creep like subaru in Re:Zero. Overlord is just a meh watch too. I wish it had a lil more action like the Skeleton Knight one. Overall still waiting on new DBZ season after the new DBZ movie, Naruto to die, more Dr. Stone; and more Jujtsu Kaisen
Yeah, I agree that Naofumi himself is not a pervert. Rather the slavery aspect of the show is almost certainly a fetish thing. We're now up to one girl he bought, one who is literally livestock, and one who voluntarily submitted. It's not a show I would recommend to isekai newcomers, but it is a pretty intriguing take on the format.
Overlord is incidentally getting really good. Since Ainz is basically all-powerful, the plot is now focused on his political aspirations. It parallels good Superman stories, where the hero (or in this case, anti-villain) is challenged not on terms of strength but on strength of mind.
I dont know if there is any isekai I would recommend to any newcomers at all. All of them have tig bitty harems sooner or later going off a loser who becomes god over a season with every woman fantasizing over the dudes pecker openly or innermonolog Unless you consider Sword Art Online an isekai since it doesn't hit off on the harem on drop and most of them get obliterated leading to ptsd before harem.
Rayearth would be one I'd suggest. None of the harem stuff, it's just three knights summoned to protect another world. If you want something more modern, Cautious Hero is great too. His motivation is a bit of a spoiler but suffice to say it kinda flips the formula around.
