The IP doesn't have the greatest track record and while I'm willing to take the risk with everyone here and buy the game, there is no guarantee that said DLC won't be complete shit. Also, STEAM SALE WORKS FOR DLC TOO!!!

I have already pre-ordered Crysis 3 and Metro last light this month so I'll be unlikely to pick up this game. I do sincerely hope though that they have nailed the content, atmosphere and playability this time. Certainly team based campaigning would be nice, too. High hopes for this puppy but no dice from me until discount time.

first to play, bitches! initial impressions in roughly the order i felt them (no major spoilers, just gameplay mostly): -opening menu is damn cool -graphics are surprisingly low end even by my standards (console port?) hopefully gameplay trumps visuals -oh hey, apparently i'm not Private Nobody the Mute. That is a welcome change. -why does it feel like all the dropship pilots are women? -in one sentence she immediately establishes herself as smarter than all you dick swinger bastards -marines are lousy at triaging the wounded -hey look! it's Bishop's legs -keep wondering when the first xeno is gonna try to eat me -fire and exposed wires hurt -for seeing xeno creep for the first time, marines are decidedly nonchalant about it -have no fear, buddy. despite being able to cut through steel doors, my cutting tool is completely harmless to human flesh -rifle isn't as loud as i thought it would be -quick time event wrasstlin' with a xeno is scary (mercifully, only one button you push) -the fucking motion tracker scares the shit out of me -what is the deal with all the video cameras? someone is into some really weird kink -can't decide which is worse: seeing scary blips or not seeing scary blips -computer allies are somewhat helpful even on 3rd hardest difficulty (what i played) -armor is oldschool (no regen) and health regen is thankfully minimized (3 blocks of health; lose a block completely, it doesn't regen) -grenades are great -nooooooo! lost my keys in outerspace -running out of ammo is a problem -rifle butt meet xeno face! -oh hey.. i have a shotgun! -boomstick is very satisfying -hey your girlfriend just called: she says she woke up with xeno penis in her mouth. bummer dude. -have health but no armor -does this ship not have any space suits? can't we just space walk the fuck out of here? -have low health AND no armor -dead
This game kinda looks like it was made for the ps2. Those textures give me nightmares :suspicion: Is the gameplay any good?
way too early to say for sure. i only played about 20-30ish minutes by myself. need to get some sleep i believe Co-op is going to be the main attraction of this game. it defintely has that good old aliens vs space marines feel. if you can look passed the surprisingly dated textures, i see some potential. oh... options list both marine AND alien controls. WOOT!
