Sorry I have been absent the past few weeks from Arma, Firefall has had my attention. The plan is for Tuesday nights to be the night for Arma. Usually we try to get started at about 8:00 Eastern. Everyone is welcome to join as long as you are familiar with the game, or have gone through some training with myself, Skwi or Varg. Feel free to run through the in game training and boot camp. It is for the most part sufficient. If you need refreshers, please get with one of us on another night so we can dedicate some time to showing you the ropes, and answering any questions you might have. Tuesdays are for missions or campaigns, so please come ready. We can answer some questions, but please do not come in completely unprepared and not knowing what is going on. As I said, I am more than happy to meet with you and get you caught up to speed, just post in this thread: http://www.theskjaldborg.com/index.php?threads/arma-3-bootcamp.9374/ OR PM me on the forums. TL;DR - Tuesday 8:00 PM Eastern , be ready.
ATTENTION!!!!!!! 1.2 GB download for updating arma today!! Didn't realize it until I went to open steam for it tonight
The wasteland server I play on ha yet to be patched to keep up with current update. Will post up info when it comes back up.
So far the Altis On Fire mission series has been great. It's a lot like our old MCC Sandbox raid-and-pillage missions except with built-in structure and less work for Gihmzo/Varg/whoever and less dependance on syncing up mods. We can probably spend at least 4-5 more nights just on this second mission and I know there's one more after this on too.
Here's what I'm running, none of it really necessary but some nice additions: Speed of Sound - great sound effect improvement, BIG file download Blastcore A3 - improved explosion graphic FX Unlocked Uniforms - allows all uniform choices to be worn by any faction Outlaw Mag Repack - repack partial magazines into full VTS Weapon resting - uses CTRL+SPACE to rest weapons on walls/objects and stabilize aim Mr Burns Voice Stop - silences the in-game radio callouts IMO the bottom 4 are the most useful. SoS and Blastcore make the game prettier but don't add anything to actual gameplay. I'm going to look around some before next Tuesday and see if there are any other client-side that I can find useful without being cheat-y or OP.
As of sunday the VTS mod and hopefully mag merging should be DLC features. Woot! Our guest had a blast and will try to make it out for more tuesday night ops.
awesome, would love an excuse to get back into arma. currently in and out with family member health stuff but if i'm in town i'm down for sure
So normally, I'd be totally game to play tonight, however the Quarterly Quad team I've got has only got last night and tonight as nights we can play. It may fall through, but we'll see.
