A new thread with detailed instructions for my stupid ass would be nice (i.e. which mods to install, or the "easy way" so I don't have to log into ts and bug one of you guys step by step.
A good portion of the ARMA crew is now playing Rainbow Six: Siege. I still like ARMA but it was getting to be a chore with all the mod updates, making sure everybody had the right mods, finding server space, etc..... plus R6S is actually more suited to what I wanted to be doing anyway with CQB and more confined environments. If somebody gets ARMA up and going again I'll try to jump on.
I'm always up for ARMA it's just that when we did this, it was done at a absolutely horrible time for me. I would gladly take responsibility in getting this up and running again if I know that there is enough interest.
I'm down for some Arma if it happens on nights other than Sundays, as I have current obligations on that night. I'm fine just running vanilla to avoid the mods issues, but I have no problem with mods. I have the latest RHS and such.
Me and Boombuni have started to get the ball rolling on this. The plan for now is that it will happen on Saturdays at 20:00 GMT which translates to 15:00 EST. Reason is for it to not be too late for any europeans but still avoiding lunch and dinner times for the americans. wee, downloaded new files. I should record next time we play. Question though is there some sort of observer mode, like I can have setup on my other computer, to record from?
There is a spectator mode but its usually only avaible when you die. It is possible to have it in pre-defined slots if the mission maker allows it (Most don't) but then you would be observing instead of playing so not recommended.
Then it would work if the mission have a spectator slot. The biggest problem is that out of all the missions i have only 3 have spectator slots. Those 3 are the official 'End Game' scenarios. End Game is a PVP scenario that they regularly hold tournaments in.
ugg that sounds overly complicated. What about some sort of god mode? I guess though you really need that 5th gun in a 5 man, not so much sometimes the 6 in a 6 man though.. humm
Honestly, I would LOOOVE to play some sort of cat and mouse game mode where one of us is on the run while the rest have to track him/her down and eliminate. Person on the run would start with just clothes, with weapons and equipment OSP. The rest gets whatever they need.
