Is there a campaign for each of the races or is it a single campaign? I plan on booting up tonight unless you guys distract me with R6
single player is imperials, but your multiplayer and skirmish fleet will level up and stuff, so there's progression in MP.
dude. Orks are hilarious and awesome. but if you're planing on using them in multiplayer, the first skill you need to buy is micro warp jump because they are slow as fuck.
I don't know why an Ork player would ever bother to use normal torpedoes when you can use boarding torpedoes.
Raming Ork ships to pieces as IM is a priceless thing, just watch chat as they rage about easy mode becoming hard suddenly.
yeah, you gotta be careful with orks about getting rammed in the side, but orks ram pretty well too. I'm a bit bummed that the Brute Ram Ships aren't as good as they are in the table top. on another note, Zzap guns are fucking awesome.
My 2 Cents..... This game is an unbalanced mess in skirmish/multiplayer modes with a handful of overpowered weapons/abilities being held by one or two races. Having said that, I can't put it down, it's frustrating at times and hard to play at others but it's campaign mode is really good in design and execution and the feeling that you are making decisions that doom millions to save billions, I don't think I have played any other 40k game (save for maybe Armageddon) that has achieved this before.
The OP stuff existed on the TT as well, it drove a lot of people into power gaming only those races if they wanted to win. Which the BFG:A team noted way back when they started the project, the only problem, no one had attempted a serious remedy for it. So the balance in this game will come with incremental iteration and time. I just want them to release a Co-op campaign, some of those missions would benefit vastly from a second person controlling that LC that ran off chasing escorts only to run into a carrier in ambush, while you were micro managing your two cruisers to tackle their cruisers in a h2h fight over the objective. I am happy to be able to play in this setting however, I missed it.
Are the Eldar out yet? How do they use movement? Is it like the TT with "solar wind"? I remember the Dark Eldar being broken. Nova Cannons were still a problem on the TT as well. We used to guess at Nova Cannon ranges, then measure. then guess and measure, back to just guessing, then it was just measure and shoot the thing. How did they settle it for this? Is it wildly inaccurate?
Eldar are in, and if you're good at micro managing units they can be great, very fast and maneuverable. Nova cannons are super inaccurate, but fantastic when they hit. Space Marines are ring released in the next few weeks, followed by an unannounced race. The game is a blast and I'm very much enjoying my ork fleet.
Is anyone playing this? It's excellent. The game mechanics, and especially the sound. The voice, music, soundfx, all are excellent.
