And Keanu Reaves as your digital guide through the whole game! Or at least one possible digital companion as Johnny Silverhand and leader of the Samurais

Apparently it is Cyberpunk's turn for contrived bullshit controversy. I am really fucking sick of traditional "games journalism".

Rock, Paper, Shotgun is dead to me.

And just for the record, John Walker's "Steam Charts" is the laziest piece of shit writing I have ever seen. Fuck that guy and fuck RPS.

It has been rather ridiculous with all the social controversy going on, my youtube feed has been filled with videos on it. My favorite part has been Mike Pondsmith's responses shooting the "reporters" down for pushing their own agendas.

I've stopped clicking on anything 'games journalism' related. It's all a joke. It's a wonder they've been bleeding people and needing investment to keep afloat.

Similar things happend to The Witcher 3 when it was getting released. With complaints about racism.

Its worse for cyberpunk but partially because its more "in fashion" now to do that.

For Rock, Paper, Shotgun, i only read something called "The flare path" which i actually think is good. It covers various aspect of simulation games.

There is no smoking gun to say this is 100% accurate, but there is a lot of truth in this video and does well to illustrate just how far big media organizations are willing to go:

I will be the last one to irresponsibly throw the phrase "fake news" at any piece of news I don't like, but this does show evidence that we need to be a lot more discerning about claims from the media.

Here's the original clip referenced earlier.... damn it's creepy:

I have too... which is exactly why I found the video so surprising. Not that it happens, but rather that they aren't even trying to hide it anymore.

While at one time journalism was a respected profession, the idea that it is just a recent thing that different parties are pushing specific agendas as "journalism" is not a new thing at all. Hell, the Spanish American War was hugely impacted by news groups pushing their agendas. We haven't quite entered a war like that in recent years as a result of news groups, they sure haven't sat on the sidelines in the ones we have gotten into.

I am enjoying it a ton. Over 70 hours played. There are three different openings (I imagine anyway, I have created 2 different characters) and I heard somewhere at least 5 different endings.

Just bought it today and are gonna play it a ton. One of my fencing mates highly recommended it with 50 hours under his belt the last I spoke with him - he had taken time off from work to be able to concentrate on it and haven't heard from him since. I count that as a positive review! :D

I did nothing other than play cyberpunk for two weeks. Took some leave :).

I have seen most of the endings and spent 134hrs to do it. Other than a few audio glitches and bugged quests, both can be fixed by loading a save. I haven't had any huge issues.

The game is not meant for consoles or low end machines.

It also was not well tested.

That being said. I enjoyed my time in NightCity and will go back for each big patch.

I have honestly loved the hell out of this game. Full of easter eggs, amazing story, great characters. I will be completing a second play-through to attempt the "secret ending", as my first play-through I was not close enough with Johnny to unlock it. My first (and best choices for me personally) ended in "The Star". I have seen all the epilogues, I will not likely bother to do "The Devil" path. (I watched it, and it was emotionally difficult for me). There are 5 different epilogue endings, and I believe (not 100% positive) the "secret ending" still has one of those 5. There are 6 possible paths to endings. Good hunting on them, happy to drop tips if people need/want them.

I'm currently sitting at 25% done with 95hrs into it. So yeah its kind of huge, and if the one secret ending I ended up watching today was anything to go from there is plenty more that can be added into the game. Just really hoping that all the media negativity over it will not kill off any chance for later DLC like it did for andromeda. To be fair the story telling in ME Andromeda didn't even reach the fanfiction level when compared to what CDPR has done here. I've been amazed over and over how they can make you feel connected to individuals having only had minimal interaction with them.

Does the game have problems? Yes.
Does the game have bugs? Yes.
Do parts of the game feel unfinished or unpolished? Yes.
Is it still an amazing game and worth playing even in its current state? Hell fucking yes.

CDPR has a reputation for sticking it out with games and continuing to polish and improve every game they release long after it's released. Witcher 3 was a buggy mess upon release too. In fact, the combat system was so bad in W3 that they needed to do a complete combat overhaul to basically make the game playable, many people forget this fact. CDPR stuck with it, and now W3 is widely regarded as one of the greatest RPGs ever made and I see no reason why they won't do the same with CP2077. Given some fixes, time, and a lot of elbow grease that we know CDPR will apply to the game and it will be another generational RPG and one of the best games produced in the Cyberpunk genre.

Glad people are enjoying it as well. What builds are you running? I've dumped all my points in hacking and stealth, as a plague netrunner. Most enemies don't ever see me. :psychotic:
