Net runner with smart weapons is where I’ve ended up at, totally did not plan for it or start of this route but have come to love it.

Ive been busy with holidays, but last i checked a couple days ago, the game was still unplayable for me (constant CTDs). Just fyi. Im not stressing; still confident it will all get fixed eventually. Frankly, ive had no time to play it even if it was working for me

I've been using streaming cloud service, GeForce Now. With it, I can even run it on my phone with ray tracing and max settings. Your only bottleneck will be your internet speed. Honestly I may never upgrade my machine again. Also heard Stadia works well.

I’ve had just about zero issues myself playing the game with over 60 hours in. Couple wonky floating cars here and there but that is about it.

On my third restart, Nomad, Very Hard, all Intelligence focused on Short Circuiting motherfuckers, down with Corps

Had been running a crit handgun stealth build but meh, got annoyed never finding new Overtures

Been thinking about starting a third play-through, do a Netrunner build with quickhacks and smart weapons. But I haven't even beaten the game on my first playthrough yet. I get about 2/3 of the way through the game and I get bored of my build.

Finished the game on NOMAD, got a "happy" ending. Then I went back to the pre-end save and realized I didn't do like a major subquest with Detective River and the two mayoral candidates, so doing that now. Then I'll go back and pick one of the other avenues to end the game.

Been doing a handgun / blades build, mostly reflex and tech. Snipe a few from far and then close in with katanas and mantis arms, with a bit of quickhacks to blind cameras and other things. Will probably go for a full body machine gun / shotgun build next time around with a street kid start (did all 3 starts at first just to see them).

No real bugs, a lot of minor visual stuff, a little immersion breaking but nothing game breaking so far. Having a katana with guaranteed crits when in slow-mo is nice.

First build was REF & TECH focusing on blades and crafting. Crafting is so OP.... worth it
My second playthrough (just started): Brawling/Blunt with BODY, TECH and COOL. I am going for as close to 100% no kills as possible in this build. Lol, it is fun as hell so far

Crafting will allow you to upgrade weapons to match your level, as well as change the iconic weapons up to legendary status.
Having more mod slots > item level

I'll dare a little OT with this but I've read a bunch of medieval and renaissance texts on dueling and sword fighting now and guess what was the most important thing back then?

Being perceived as a person of honor and honor meant that you were a man of your word. Before bank transactions and all that you didn't haul 1500 florins with you to the lumberyard to seal a deal for caravel's hull planks. Instead quite often you'd go there without money with a couple of carts and workers, you'd tell them you can afford it and will send the payment then and then. And they'd go the man said he's good for it and we're now expecting a delivery of gold and silver then and then.

And if someone started telling everyone oh Sheep is the worst, he will say that he will and then he won't. That's giving the lie. After found out about I'd have two possible options in my life:
    1) Challenge him to a duel God as my witness that I am not a liar but a man of honor to whom his reputation as a solid guy is more important than his own life.
    2) Do nothing, lose all honor and notice how people stop selling me things and will actually refuse to meet me because they'd be associated with lowly dishonorable scum if they were found out associating with such types.

So upon challenge the person who gave the lie would then theoretically have the opportunity to accept or refuse but a refusal would then mean direct admittance of having lied with all the repercussions it would entail. Thus after publically giving the lie the both parties would find themselves locked and unable to do anything but effectively exile themselves or fight in a duel.

The journalists keep on saying things that are simply not true. Their entire career rests upon their perception of not being outright liars and cheaters but having some integrity.

And integrity and honor is something many of those people have none of. The old term for them would be "disgraceful liars and rebels", the kind of people no respectable person would associate with in any way or pay any heed to.

In fact if such a dishonorable person tried to challenge a person of honor the challenge itself could be flat out rejected. Life without honor would render you an outlaw for all intents and purposes. A man of honor could in private murder you and his word on acting on self defense would not be much doubted given the character of the other party.

I do know a few games that I have not found a single bug in.

I don't remember any of them by name.

Bugs are like technical detail errors in stories. Reading about Astartes battling the Chaos forces in space battle and realizing some of the technical details of space combat, physics, engineering etc. are way off? Yea, that's like a game having a bug.

    That's why the term exists:

    Suspension of disbelief.
It's like this super hot chick that you'd think you'd never have a chance with but through the dinner she accidentally farts, she has one crooked tooth and doesn't get all of your jokes and you don't get all of her jokes. But you're both into one another.

THEN the journalist shows up and says "oh man! OH MAN! Don't you see? She's Pisces and you're Scorpio, WALK AWAY NOW and did you see that tooth? Walk away now!"

So, every last big game will have bugs. Big ambitious games would never ever get released if they weren't allowed to contain flaws. Just think of the Mars colonization mission, if it has to bee 100% safe it's never going to happen.

This game is a notable pillar of games history.

It also highlights how the US and West European companies have structurally-culturally lost some of their ability to deliver good games anymore and how they've lost some of their edge, how other people elsewhere still can outperform them where it counts and no amount of slander will change the truth of it.

At the end of the day people are buying it in droves, they are seeing what it really is and they are telling everyone how good it is because it's exceptionally rare and truly unique game in all meaningful ways. And they will pass on their experience and more people will continue to buy it, it will hopefully - and likely - get expanded a good amount in future further driving up sales while the quality will just keep on increasing.

In the end CDPR will not really lose much of it's reputation but truly claim their throne as de facto contender for the best game studio while the journalists simply lose even more credibility in the eyes of anyone who can remember things longer than 15 minutes.

As for builds, hacking and stealth. There's no armor like not being shot at. Also not being shot at means that any weapon or damage that you might have has a different quality than something that gets shot at.

But then I find myself walking around a lot with the double barreled shotgun and blasting people's heads in half.

    Found a new favorite weapon.

It's good treading the path of the swole. Now I just need to find some more turret to manhandle...

From what I've seen of reviews, update 1.5 pretty much finished with all the fixes to the game and put it at the point where it should have been released at.

There were still some issues I held personally that detracted from the game after these updates. One of these was vehicle controls were still subpar (after updates) by my standards. Another was the gimmicky damage model where myself and also some enemies turned into bullet sponges. I know this is a fairly common thing for FPS RPGs. I don't care... it still annoys me. I'm at the point in life where games need to hit that "goldilocks" vibe with me or I just won't play them.

Like I said, thankfully, a few mods have fixed all the remaining issues I had with this game. Honestly, that statement is not a criticism in my book. Cyberpunk is at the point where you should look at it like Fallout or Skyrim; the game is good now, but its just damn better with a few (or more than a few) mods.

That video covers a lot of the ones I use.

For anyone curious, most of the mods I use only improve under-the-hood vanilla gameplay, immersion, or quality of life. Here is what I use (with some notes on what they do):

    Framework mods:
(most of these do nothing on there own. Many are required for other mods to work)
    • ArchiveXL
    • Cyber Engine Tweaks
    • input_loader
    • mod_settings - allows adjustment of mods in-game
    • Native Settings
    • red4ext
    • redscript
    Quality of Life mods:
    • Real Vendor Names
      • vender locations are properly named to make them easier to find
    • Respector
      • allows you to respec attributes and spawn in stuff to test different builds
    • Stash Filters
      • better inventory management
    • untrackQuestByRightClick
      • does what it says
    Gameplay mods:
    • Armor Fix For All Weapons
      • normalizes damage reduction from armor. ever been one-shotted from a single punch against normal enemies for no good reason?
        yeah, this fixes that.
    • Car Modification Shop
      • trick out your vehicle with aftermarket parts; more grip, more torque, more power baby!
    • Cyber Vehicle Overhaul
      • improves default handling (may or may not partially overwrite CMS; i don't know)
    • Improved Minimap Zoom
      • actually see where you need to turn before you get there
    • Level Scaling and Balance
      • I use the full customized version that allows me to make damage and enemy toughness more consistent regardless of where you are on the map (ie. no more bullet sponge for me or enemies
      • if you want more help on how this works, just pm me on discord
    • Missing Persons - Fixers Hidden Gems
      • gives you many new gigs to help you find all the easter eggs in-game
    • Vehicle Combat
      • overhauls open world combat; shoot from vehicles you are driving, enemies can call in reinforcements, more car chases, etc. customize to your preference.
    Immersion mods:
    • Better Vehicle First Person
    • Immersive First Person
      • you have feet; now you can see them!
    • NoWalkDisabled
      • walk when you really want to walk
    • Ragdoll Physics Overhaul

You can get all of them on the Nexus:

I'm surprised you're not using Enhanced Police. All it does is change where Police spawn. Instead of on top of you, now they spawn outside of draw distance and drive to you using vehicles. Basically how GTA or any other open world police work. Also civilians will call the Police on you, and react to your hostile actions.
