Let me put it this way: With this technology you absolutely could hardwire a virus to target only one specific ethnic group. Yeah, it's got some pretty terrifying potential.
It's more like a conventional bioweapon... though with more applications. Some beautiful, and some unspeakable. So yeah, we should care. Meanwhile, this makes me think of soemthing out of Douglas Adams. Possibly because the article never realyl touches on why quantum entanglement allows qubits to simultaneously and exhaustively perform a complete set of permutations which would usually require sequential iterative calculation, or how all those solution sets can be simultaneously observed/recorded (which is sort of the perennial "NSA" problem of trying to figure things out by substituting volume of information for quality of information), "So great, we got all the results.. now which are the ones we want?"
Of course, that's only a problem if your ethnic group is dumber and lazier than the other ethnic groups you've pissed off, and get beaten to the punch.
