Oh, like I said, I know that it can be customized, but there is still lots of information that appears, for a newb. And I couldn't really find a screenshot of combat or multiplayer. But, I can tell you, the only addition to the current screen that I linked is a small chat box, that displays only 3 lines of text at a time, (expandable) and a enemy/target listing included in the same list as the Way points.

The top 4 Space Sims ever, IMHO - Descent Freespace (both), Freelancer and Darklight Conflict (old game is old, and so am I ) Never tried EVE because crunching numbers isn't something I can multitask with busting bandits Do like X3: Terran Conflict though - it's just a bit LOOOOONG...
I remember back in 2002/2003 when there was no tutorial for EVE and you pretty much had to learn as you went. The HUD was a lot more clean and had less windows/data presented than what it is today. If you think today is bad, imagine back when it was in beta and had just gone live. Granted, the highest tier of ship was a T1 battleship. But the point remains the same. Still my favorite MMO to date in regards to the whole open sandbox ideal. And that's saying something considering how much I loved SWG pre-combat update/pre-NGE.
I haven't played in a few years now. But I do still have a character. Name's Zihd and I'm not sure he belongs to a Corp right now.

Oh man I spent many many many hours playing Wing Commander on the SNES, never had a computer that would run WC3 until after I had lost interest in the series though. I will have to check that out.
Oh my God... I've forgotten how quickly this game sucks you in and how you can just sit there for hours if you have nothing to do -_-
I play EVE. I'm running my own corps. Ones a private money making enterprise with me and a buddy where we produce battleships out of a POS in high sec. The other is one that I'm slowly building up to do black ops/cloaky pvp pirating and guerilla warfare style things. I've got three toons. Captain She'ep, Narenor, and Rand Tobellar. Any eve players feel free to look me up. Also, I founded the alliance we're in but I stepped down from exec in anticipation of MWO. Once that release, my eve stuff will likely fall into a state of deep neglect.
Playing off and on again, Jinko Git is the name, not getting blown the hell up is the game. Never had a game make me this damn paranoid. High Sec training corp co-ordinator. Get 'em trained up and shift to the null sec corp for fun and games
