There may be a thread for this already but I couldn't find it...

I know a HOTAS system will probably always win out in an argument over the two, but if I HAD to get a mouse, what should I be looking for?

The only company I've heard bad things about is Razer (for low quality of builds), but there Naga looks perfect.

Any mouse supporters out there, or anyone have any suggestions?

I had a Razer a few years back, but the shape of it (it's very flat) didn't fit my hand overly well and ended up going with a Logitech G5 when I replaced it.

Honestly what you should do is go to your nearest or best computer shop that got game mouses and try some of them. Its realy boring buying something online that doesnt fit your hand or dont feel right to you..
My advise try some before you go into buying something online. if thats what your going to do. Each person has different hands and likes different things try out what you like.

I've got a RAT5 and love it. I think the only difference between it and the 7 is that the 7 is wireless and has one more adjustable spot.

7 looks wired to me in that video...

Random aside, I'm apparently more of a "fingertip" or "claw grip" mouser.

Wait that's right the 9 is wireless.

I didn't watch the video. So there.

    I use a Logitech G700.

Enough, but not -too- many buttons. Programmable, macro'd buttons, and profile switching via on-mouse buttons is awesome.

It's big enough and rises high so is comfortable. Not for little hands.

It's a wired/wireless hybrid so is great for gaming at home or on the road.

Mouse-wheel 'unlocks' so it can go 'pfweeeeeeeeeeeee-click' in menus and stuff. :p

I had a R.A.T 7 but I wasn't crazy about it. I ended up taking it back and getting a logitech g500 - it fits my hand great and has all the functionality I could need. I agree with Chevilear though, if it's at all possible then you should try a few out at an electronics store. It's really the only way to know for sure whether or not a particular mouse will work for you

The RAT does look pretty nice, but it seems to only have two/three buttons besides left & right click? has the DPI adjust, precision aim, mode change and then two back/forward spots?

loved when the naga commentator goes "your fingers are meant to be here" haha! Naga buttons look pretty convenient too

He also said the last row of buttons on the Naga were pointless because you really can't reach them, same with the "Forward/Backward" buttons up by your index finger. ;)

Good luck pushing the RIGHT button too... that would take some getting used to.

I use a Razer Death Adder, and I love it. I have a bit of a biased opinion on both points though. I will never use a joystick/HOTAS in place of a keyboard/mouse and I have been an avid Razer fan for years. Steel Series is another company to look into if you want a good gaming mouse. There was period of time that I opted to use Steel Series over Razer, I switched back several months ago.

I just got a logitech M510, not exactly a gaming mouse, but it has some extra buttons which is nice :D

speaking of which, for some reason said extra buttons don't work in MW4

I have the Logitech MX-518. I know it's old. But it is soooooo comfortable.

I am considering buying a Razor Naga.

After this thread, I had to break out my Naga. Going to try and get used to it again. Its SLIGHTLY too small for my hands and the trad. mouse buttons are bit far forward, but it isnt that bad. You just hit them w your index finger.

The thing about the 10-12 buttons: Thats crap. I have severely dislocated my right thumb, have permanent nerve damage, cant even FEEL the top of my thimb and have zero probs hitting them. You would have to have HUGE hands to have a prob.

I like a lot of the things about that RAT7, I'm going to have to look a bit more at it since I need a second mouse with two computers running here. I've been running a G700 for the past year and love it, the only other mouse I find as comfortable is the MX. The two stage scroll wheel has me loving Logitech, as much as I wouldn't mind trying another company, freewheeling is so awesome. Has anyone checked out the upcoming Thermaltake Level 10 M gaming mouse? http://techreport.com/discussions.x/22602

I use a Razer Mass Effect 3 Imperator, 4 customizable buttons is enough for me thanks
