    Yes they are claiming 1 unit is 2 different ones. The officer pod is both the marauder and the locust. And the destroid Spartan is both the archer and shadowhawk. HG left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

    Yeah, it's fucking nonsense. But even if these designs do look "similar", Studio Nue already won its case against HG that they even own the rights to the design. My understanding is that HG's entire argument is null because it's been established they own nothing at this point.

    from what I gather is that their entire argument is held up by a wall of precedent and legaleze and pretty much nothing else, it's really just because they've had this held up for so long that they even have a argument to begin with.

    Except their isn't any precedent. For there to be precedent, there would have to be a court ruling and to my knowledge HG never had to take it that far before. To my knowledge, they were just experts of legal threats, but until now no one had the balls to actually challenge them in court.

    I’m sure tatsunoko will tell them to piss off so they can cash in on the 30 plus years of Macross anime that continued to go on. Also that the live action movie can finally start production. HG was the main reason the live action Macross movie that Hollywood has been sitting on for years now never got made.

    But nothing to fear though since Sony has the license to make it so it will suck ass regardless.

    Well HG has till the 20th (April 20) to prove they have a case against PGI. Otherwise it gets dismissed. No idea if that is with or without prejudice.
