I'm going to need to test some ciders. for science. Woodchuck for whatever reason tastes sweet to me. or maybe it's juice like for me. not really cider.
My friend had a pear cider that was aged in tequila barrels. I'll check with him to see what the brand is if you like tequila.
I don't like Woodchuck. Spire per or dark and dry, Smith and Forge, and Square Mile dry hopped are much better. If you want to go a little more high-end, Crispin makes some nice stuff - though sadly they aren't making the Lansdowne now, the Saint is damn nice. Doc's draft is even better... Reverend Nat's makes some really good stuff, though there's' a few odd things in their lineup I don't like so well (had something with passion flowers that was unappealing).
Dear Dihm, Blue, Axe, and engine else involved in the night of giggle fits, I will be buying another bottle of Stroh in the very near future to drink at a three-day Memorial Day party. I'll do my best to post here or get on TS on my phone if I can remember to. Lub, GiggleBear
at first i saw 80 and think 80 proof and am like, whats the big deal... then i see the flammable comment.. i'm like... 80 proof isn't all that flammable for liquor....then see its percent not proof and am like oh holy shit this is stronger than everclear. what does one mix it with optimally (and drinking it straight is stupid masochism, i've drank 151 straight but there really isn't a point other than to prove one can).
not stronger than everclear -used- to be. I still have a bottle (empty) somewhere of 95%. that's 190 proof
It makes a tasty rum and coke. But it's really not terrible by itself. Damn smooth for something so strong.
damn bad bad teenage memories come back ... i barely avoided it to go to hospital after my last encounter with it 25 years ago a buddy of mine became famous in school back then cause they picked him up from the school afternoon party and brought him directly to hospital where he stood overnight with alcohol poisoning
