So at the end of the month I shall be making a fairly long move from NY, NY to Oahu, Hawaii (and no I'm not military). Obviously going to throw my timezones off a bit so I will probably be on less at the same time as everyone else, but still planning on sticking around. I'm also going to be working from home/remote for the time being so I may be on TS during the day some. TLDR: Wife spent some time in Hawaii growing up and got a really good job offer so we're packing up and going there for a while.
Good luck (with your own job) and have fun! 3 months from now when I'm 4 feet deep in snow I will be jealous.
One of my coworkers took a line MX spot in Honolulu last year. She took one look at the housing prices out there and came right back to Houston with her tail between her legs. In other words, I hope it was a REALLY good job offer. I hear it's nice there though. My mother and her husband go out there every summer to visit his family.
same cost of living as Brooklyn but cheaper housing, but ridiculous compared to anywhere else. Combined our incomes will be more than now.
Oahu?! Lucky you. Let us in on this secret to moving to paradise. I'm actually kind of in love with NYC, but Hawaii... Really?!?!
My stuff is being picked up next week Thursday, so about from 9/26 to end of October I will be without a computer capable of gaming. I'll probably forum browse though, but MIA from gaming for about a month.
Yea, "fortunately" I have a work laptop. Just can't really install anything on it and its really not powerful enough for most stuff.
That sounds like some totalitarian dystopia where you're given computers but not all allowed use of and even if were then they'd be too shitty to perform any meaningful function. And on paper it would all look really nice "all employee-subjects have laptops". Cruel world. (pssst: hard drive swap!!)
