    MULTIPLAYER
    Mutiplayer does indeed work in-game, but if servers fail to populate, you may need to open ports:

    (If you don't have access to your router settings, GameRanger is a good alternative)

    After digging around, anyone who still has it installed since we used to play MW4 for weekly drops, the build is MP 3.1 I haven't been able to figure out of we were using ver 0.92 or not but I'm hopeful that it is correct. (I realize there are only a handful of us that are still here from well before closed beta, and I'm probably the only one with it and game ranger still installed, but if you have it then you may not need to re-download it all. Hard to believe that after 3 years it was still on my laptop, granted it was cheap insurance in case mwo didn't work out)

    It was the 1st RR that we used to play with. They did a number of mech packs with more table armor levels and classic mechs built from other chassis when they weren't in the game.

    We used to crash Smoke Jaguar Trials of Something and we tried some matches with the 1st Robinson Rangers as well, using canon loadouts. I still have to conversion sheets somewhere on how to build mechs that weren't in the game.

    In other words, I have a 64 bit OS... and the version from this link:

    will not install for me. Can anyone help me get this to work?

    Check the above link I provided MH, someone managed to pick it up and add some more maps and stuff since MekTek abandoned the project.

    are you installing in C:\Program Files (x86) or just C:\Program Files? x86 is for 32 bit programs, so install it there.

    Edit: also, I did a quick search and it turns out I've still got MW4mercs on my laptop as well! It's definitely MP3.1 but I'm having trouble figuring out what ver it is.

    I'm installing onto a totally separate harddrive from the OS. Would that affect it at all?

    I have mine installed into the second hard drive partition, it shouldn't be a problem.

    When I was in Iraq I carried a portable USB HD that had games I installed onto it. I then when I had free time would go to the USO computer center near by, plug in the HD and play what ever game I wanted, as long as the computer could handle the graphics that is. Could even play the games online.

    In Windows OS, a 32 bit program needs to be installed in certain special folders when being installed on a 64 bit system. It has something to do with how the 32 bit windows emulator is run. One of those special folders is Program Files (x86). I'm not quite sure how to create these folders on a new hard drive though.

    Happy to confirm that this link provides a working version. Simply install it to the default file path (in the x86 folder) and it runs like a boss. No need to mess with compatibility functions or anything! :D

    Yep, that's where I got my copy. I just found it again and it works great.

    If you go to "Downloads" there is also an HD version available.

    The Shadow's of Empirion download is the most up to date version. You have that much right.

    I am highly motivated to promote this with our group not just because it's a great game we can all play together, but it is also free. I don't expect this to replace MWO, but I think it would be a great "palette cleanser" for when we want to try something different.
