Speaking of political candidates we can all get behind, this guy has been running for President for years! http://www.verminsupreme.com/ Fuck world peace! I want a pony!
This is by design. You get two established parties who want to stay in power, so they take up an extreme and opposing position on something that wouldn't actually affect most people if they took a more moderate position. Then what're incredulously passing as journalists these days wax hysterical about it because it drums up ad impressions, which their livelihood is completely dependent on. The electorate gets all up in arms and votes against whichever side they're maddest at instead of for somebody who actually represents their interests. Best of all, you never even have to actually fix the problem you got everybody mad about, because you'll never get enough support from the other party to actually do anything. Then when your term is up not only is your wedge issue still good, you get to blame the other guys for why you were completely ineffectual at solving it.
...then steps in the 3rd way. The Hegelian Dialectic. Synthesis. To reach absolute order, you need absolute chaos.
I had an experience like this. Been stocking electronics where i work and some kid walks up to me and asks me if im gamer. So im like. yeah i game. he then goes on to ask me if i prefer halo or cod... i just face palm and look at him in disappointment
kinda had that at an arby's drive through. it was slow. the kid at the window asked me if I was a gamer than asked "PS4 or XBOX?". I wen't "PC but between those probably ps4 simply because pretty much everything on xobx will come out on PC" and he went "oh.... right" almost like a "damn i'm an idiot" moment for him. the kid was working at arby's not me. I don't want to work with food at all.
so wrong but I still laughed a bit As sad as it is, this just is what happens when you leave a small animal or child unattended near water in Florida. There are still alligators in Orlando who were alive before Disney ever came to town. Shoot there was still cattle rustling into the the 70's and 80's in the Orlando area, people think that it has always been developed and tame. The reality is that it has only been in the last 30 years that it has really grown so much. That growth has been into areas that once were prime alligator habitat, and gators are resilient enough to just keep right on living there.
