I'll try to be on around 7 or so. If I can't I'll let you know. So for now, I'll just assume I can make it. If it's just a couple of us, a game shouldn't take more than a couple of hours anyway.

no upgrades for me right now. I may have to drop out entirely as a regular character. School is keeping me a little too busy right now. getting a 4 -5 block of free time in the middle of the day is becoming difficult.

    Hmm lance of 1...

Magnus if you happen to see this since your inbox is full, do you want to keep the VTOLs seperate (being just me) or roll them into another lance?

Ok so I put up the financial statement for us in drop box. Included refitting boths VTOLs. I know Hak said he wasnt going to mess with it but I did a quick refit that gets more speed and ER which he cant not like. :D Below are the two refits I made the kits and all that just not to sure on uploading to dropbox cause for some reason last 2 campaign saves would not load for me so had to use older one and dont want to screw anything up that is already on there. The links are a bit wonky but they work.. sorta. They are in my customs folder on the Dropbox at any rate.

i'll mess with it tonight, but that looks cool. I may drop a little speed to get an ecm system, but we'll see.

Just throwing it out there since you have till midnight tonight to decide:

You could easily fit the Guardian ECM on the Harbringer R Mk II by switching to FF armor (.5 ton) and dropping two Rocket Launchers (1 ton)... but that is a tough call. I honestly can't give a recommendation either way. I guess it comes down to which is your bigger concern; a little added ecm protection or a stronger one shot alpha?

    -EDIT-

Oops... we all forgot that you need to save a leftover of .5 tons because we are using "cowled lift fans". Essentially, Harbingers have the benefit of having 4 armor hit points for their rotor instead of the usual 2. Remember, rotors only take 1 damage for each "hit". This makes LRMs and LB ACs particularly dangerous (spread damage). Therefore, because of their increased rotor armor, the Harbingers are more resistant to being shot down by rotor damage. The drawback is that .5 tons must be reserved for the cowled lift fan mechanisms.

This is an easy fix: the P model could drop one MG and the R model would just need to fit FF armor... this does kind of screw your plans for having the ecm suite as mentioned previously, though. Be sure to update your refit request accordingly.

I will edit the post with the refits requests here in a sec. I remember while doing it you leftoff .5 tons but MHQ would not let me begin the refit and make a kit till it was sitting at 30 outta 30 tons. Dont know why but it seems to now like me much.

May be more than a sec have to get onto computer with MHQ on it to see how that changes time and money and then change the financial statement lol. Will get to it this evening.

Ok changes due to .5tons rotor armor in.

Also changed up Hak's chopper a bit to take in the changes he talked about. Bit slower than old one but same firepower and a ECM.

Could not make kit cause MHQ wouldn't let me since not at 30 tons for some fucking reason so links are to old shit that now no longer matter. Going to update the financials on dropbox didnt change much but did change. Anything needs to be changed let me know. And somehow made Hak's have higher BV than my own which ticks me off a bit :unamused:

Yeah.. the Harbingers we will probably have to do manually because of the rotor issue. Technically, BT rules do not allow more than two points of armor on the rotors, but I always found this to be an antiquated (read:stupid) game mechanic. The two extra points for .5 tons seems justified to me (especially when you consider that is normally 8 armor points). Just use the megamek lab as a guide and fill in the record sheet manually as needed.

Haki probably has more BV because of all the extra pew pew methinks.

Ok went through and manually filled out the record sheet so that the links are correct now. And may I say 4pts on rotors... your first Aeron had 10 and now you have cut us back to 4 that hurts man that just hurts.. :p And me thinks you are correct about the BV I just liked the idea of the machine guns in case there are infantry to light up and if I can ever find out how to get them to burst fire as you say they should. I was still tempted to make my suicidal version with 5 medium lasers and an ECM :bananalama:

That should be Phi lance all caught up unless I missed something or we get a new person.

10 was WAAAY OP (for example: 10 hits to the rotor by Gauss rounds wouldn't kill you). After some significant testing, it was agreed that 2 extra was sufficient. The main focus is still to not get hit in the first place (same with all VTOL)... speed should still be your primary defense... but at least now you aren't dying to the occasional cheap shots.

Me thinks 2 MGs is more than sufficient for infantry. Hell... even one MG tears them apart (MGs deal bonus damage to unarmored targets). MGs also make nice crit finders when tuned to rapid fire mode (done in the Configuration window in the lobby before the match starts). With rapid fire on, they deal 1d6 instead of a flat 2 damage. However, in this mode they also cause an equal 1d6 amount of heat which makes rapid fire mode less attractive for mechs and Aerospace, but fantastic for vehicles since the heat doesn't affect vehicles at all. Overall, MGs are great for cheap short range punch on vehicles... which is why many of my tanks carry at least one (also for fluff reasons).

However, as a VTOL pilot don't expect to use MGs very often unless you get a good opening (such as unarmed rear armor). Getting that close with an MG can be very dangerous in a VTOL if you get targeted.

I never said it wasnt OP just said it hurt lol. Just trying to get the VTOLS as much as I can seeing as how we are at the limit of size and unless we get clan tech we will never pack a bigger punch than what we do right now. Our bank account will look fabulous though, unless we die of course.

And I shall have to remember to always ask that the Mguns get turned to rapid fire before every game. Cause there is never such a thing as overkill when people are shooting at you.

I'm pretty sure you can set the MG firing rates yourself on your unit's config window (it has been awhile). I know for sure it isn't done through game options. Anyway, having someone else to remind me is definitely welcomed.
