TR = Daka, larger mags, faster rate of fire, dual weapons. NC = Boom, smaller mags, lower rates of fire, harder hitting per shot. Vanu = purple.
Apparently, choosing the right faction might not be such an issue afterall. The new publisher relaxed the grind quite a bit compared to when the game launched. They seem to be making their money with cosmetics now... which is great news for us. A free account gives you three character slots I think? I see no reason why we can't go completely mercenary: make a character for each faction and play whichever one we feel like at a given time. Since the consensus seems to be okay with Emerald, everyone go ahead and make a character for each faction. Here's some recommended things to focus on unlocking first: ====INFANTRY==== ALL Infantry Weapons All standard issue weapons are actually pretty decent. Don't waste certs on a new weapon unless you are 100% certain it is what you want. There are a few exceptions to above statement (ex. the TR standard pistol is complete garbage). Get a 1x Red Dot Sight for all guns you use ASAP! (except sniper rifles obviously) Infiltrator: Ability - Hunter Cloaking 3 or Stalker Cloaking 1 Suit - Nanoweave 3 (very important for beginners) Utility - MedKit 1 or RestorKit 1 or Claymore 1 Light Assault (Jump Trooper) Ability - Drifter 2 or Jump Jet 3 Suit - Nanoweave 3 (very important for beginners) Utility - C-4 Medic Ability - Nano-Regen 4 Suit - Nanoweave 3 (very important for beginners) Engineer Suit - Nanoweave 3 (very important for beginners) Utility - C-4 Charge 1 or Claymore 1 or Tank Mines 1 Heavy Assault Ability - Resist Shield 1 Suit - Nanoweave 3 (very important for beginners) MAX Weapon - NS Burster x2 (having two of these on a MAX is arguably the most efficient way of dealing with aircraft) ====VEHICLES==== ALL Vehicle Weapons Ammo Capacity 3 Harasser Utility - Gate Shield Defuser 1 (ideal for breaching defenses and flanking bases) Sunderer Utility - Smoke Screen 2 AND Gate Shield Defuser 1 Defense - Nanite Proximity Repair 1 AND Vehicle Ammo Dispenser AND Vehicle Stealth 1 NOTE: The standard Basilisk is pretty decent against all targets.

so, I've been having a blast just soloing in this the last few days. Would be awesome to get some actual team stuff going. I've got the Skjaldborg TR unit set up, so as soon as we get some people we're good to go. Right now we've got Lagcat and Solomance, and I think Trevnor is on the way. A few more and we'll have a full squad.
I've been soloing as well off and on for a bit. This game is infuriating. I can see where it'd be fun but so far, it's more fury than entertainment.
I've spent the last couple of months solid playing Dark Souls, so being killed over and over kind of habit at this point.
Yup. Finally downloaded and gave it a try. Spawn..., hide..., take two steps out of base, DIE. Spawn... Die. Rinse and repeat.
