The Volkswagen ID.R is finally getting released. The ID.R provided some unique challenges for the Raceroom dev team. It was the first fully electric car that they created for the game. It was also the first time that they created a virtual rendition of a car that didn't exist yet. They have worked hand in hand with the Volkswagen team, receiving data and actual telemetry from the car as it had done runs around the Nurburgring Nordschleife. They have also recieved plenty of input from the cars driver who is also an avid simracer. With this update they are also killing off a long time meme within the Raceroom community Spoiler: BHGP? meme BHGP? short for Brands Hatch Grand Prix? is a long time running meme in the Raceroom community. Brands Hatch is a racing circuit located in Kent, England. The circuit features 2 layouts, the Grand Prix layout which is 3.916 km long and the Indy layout that is 1.944 km long. The Grand Prix layout is the primary one which most races use but some do use the Indy layout. The Indy layout is actually the original layout with some changes used back in the 1950s. When Raceroom got the licence for doing Brands Hatch through their DTM series licence. They only got the license for doing the Indy layout as that is what DTM was using during their races. Over the years it became quite common to see new members ask about where the Brands Hatch Grand Prix layout is. It was featured in alot of the players wish lists for what should be added. It was asked about in almost every Q&A. Whenever they released hints for what the next circuit was going to be, things like this would be created: The new circuit this was hinting to was Dubai Autodrome.
