Playing with army men on a massive scale... Running With Rifles is fun as hell and I highly recommend we play this as a group. It is sort of like a top-down (isometric) version of Battlefield, but with hundreds of bots mixed in and no random player bullshittery. I'm talking teams of 400 bots vs 400 bots and you somewhere in the middle of that mayhem. I'm talking fully controllable PvP/PvE/CO-OP/whatever-we-want private AND public server hosting. I'm talking 64 player servers (or unlimited with simple modding)! I'm talking online servers with light RPG progression and easy hotdropping! I'm talking gameplay that is easy and fun to pick up right away, but has enough depth to reward both precise skill and tactical efficiency! You would be hard pressed to find a game that we could more easily play altogether. Bought it and played a little bit, its like Infantry but new. Def playing it more, definitely a learning curve though
Haki, Rav, Blackfire, and myself played for hours and hours tonight. We got our own server running and player progression is persistent! This game is fun as tits. Everyone go get this. This will not be a flavor of the month if I have anything to do with it. (just fyi, I will still keep doing Stellaris, Space Engineers, Megamek, etc. but there is no denying they are not as easy to pick up and play as this game is)
solid reviews: Oh and hosting a private AND persistent game is as simple as hosting for megamek (ie. very easy). All I had to do was open the port on my router.
The 4-pack was on sale too so I have three copies to give away to anyone who at least promises to try and play with everyone. Come get yer rifles borfers!
