To be fair, we took at least two 30 minute breaks.

You faction got swallowed by the Skjaldborg Confederacy. We tried to save it, but it was too late. Good news is we can always liberate you. The Avalonians can have their country back. :)

    Patch 2.02 up:

    Feature

    1. * Added event that lets countries with a Chosen One become a Divine Empire
    2. * Adjusted fleet formations so that titans try to position themselves more in the middle of a fleet and avoid face-tanking the enemy
    3. * Grasp the Void ascension perk has been added to the game. It increases starbase capacity by +4
    4. * Increased max starbase capacity to 100
    5. * AI Empires now gets pirates
    6. * Normalized unique Leviathan building costs. Ether Drake Shrine, Dragonslayer Monument, and Stellar Devourer Trophy now all cost 800 minerals and take one year to build
    7. * Post-Apocalyptic civic starts with a more balanced home world, because even Max Rockatansky cannot live on gasoline alone
    8. * The "Scout" Admiral trait will now first appear after Gravitic Sensors tech has been researched
    9. * Global Pacifier and Neutron Sweep can now be used to neutralize Prethoryn infested worlds
    10. * Added a 20 year cooldown before the AI can hire a Marauder raid against the same target again
    11. * Increased combat disengage chance for Titans
    12. * Fleet Levies now makes all subject (not just vassal) Pops count towards overlord's naval capacity instead of giving a fraction of vassal naval capacity (as the latter resulted in getting huge amounts of naval capacity from techs of 1-system vassals)
    13. * Executive Vigor effect on edict duration reduced from +100% to +50%
    Bug Fixes

    1. * Fixed being able to build Trading Hubs in primitive systems
    2. * Defense platforms that are over cap are now deleted when downgrading a starbase
    3. * Unless a megastructure is set to be built outside gravity wells it MUST have a planet set to be built
    4. * Description texts for the exterminator civic updated to reflect ship build cost
    5. * Colony ships now also get reduced ship cost if there is a modifier for it
    6. * Fixed a bug where tradition cost did not increase per planet, but rather cost per system twice instead
    7. * Fixed issue where Prethoryn Defeated happiness modifier was not applied to militarists correctly
    8. * Fixed a crash when sorting the war logs more than once
    9. * Crashfix when trying to send a message that couldn't be created
    10. * You can no longer stop the building of other empire's robot
    11. * You can no longer save a ship design if that name is already used by a ship design for another ship size
    12. * Fixed a bug where polytechnic education tradition effect did not match tooltip
    13. * Fixed so that expansion traditions adopt bonus is now the same for all types of empires, instead of using the old value for hive minds and machine empires
    14. * Contingency sterilization hubs can now be properly neutralized by World Crackers and Global Pacifiers
    15. * Fixed species being able to spawn with Serviles trait
    16. * Fixed Colossus and Containment CBs not being correctly applied
    17. * No longer possible to lose a rival you're at war with due to strength differences

Hm, I started a new game and I may have to try this setup in the next multi sesh, it spreads fast and builds minerals and energy creds at a very good rate. Low science though.

Militarist / Egalitarian / Materialist gives you 10% army damage, 10% fire rate, -10% robot maintenance, -10% consumer goods cost, 15% faction influence gain, and 5% research speed. These aren't that crucial except the robot maintenance and consumer goods bonus, but you have to pick civics that allow corporate dominion. Picked oligarchy, because need corporate dominion. Selected efficient bureaucracy for +2 core systems, mechanist for immediate robots and corp dominion for these:

    [IMG]Corporate Dominion
    • [IMG] +1 Energy per Starbase Trading Hub
    • [IMG] Can build private colony ships
    • [IMG] Starts with the Space Trading techonolgy
This society is dominated by a megacorporation that has completely supplanted the role of the state.
    • [IMG] Not [IMG] Xenophobe nor [IMG] Fanatic Xenophobe.
    • [IMG] Is [IMG] Oligarchic.

Then thrift (15% energy creds), sedentary (don't care because I'm expanding with robots and repopulation done via credits and I have plenty), and strong for a tiny mineral boost.

This synergizes pretty well. Basic idea is to get corporate dominion so you can immediately get trading hubs and private colony ships (which are built on energy not minerals). Get 3 starbases pretty quick, ideally at least one other one on a colony and stack 2/3 with trade hubs for energy generation, you'll hit a crazy amount of energy right off the bat. Make sure to tear down the shipyard at your home star once you get a starbase in an unoccupied system and rebuild it there so you can put the trade hub x2 on homeworld.

You can build colony ships with energy, allowing rapid colonization. Robot technology being available off the start means you can build pops pretty quick because their maintenance is covered with your energy production, you also need to worry less about food. You can also colonize non-ideal planets and make them 100% mineral focused. Your 2nd / 3rd planets should really just be robots mining minerals, nothing else. Going science heavy with this approach isn't great because its made for going wide, quickly. Sedentary doesn't matter because we're mostly building robots and resettlement costs are in energy, which you have plenty. Thrift / Strong is just a bonus to energy and minerals.

Haven't played it far but early game I'm about 3 colonies ahead of all the AI around me and my fleet strenght is equivalent, if I wanted to flip off expansion mode to pure corvette pumping I'd get a big fleet very fast. I'm about to do that to see if I can roll a hostile neighbor nearby.

    Dear brother,

I fear you have forgotten the Word. Allow me to elucidate...

I encourage all brothers and sisters to take a moment to congregate in fellowship with others, participate in the Meat and Mead according to their own fashion, and celebrate this blessed weekend.:toast:

Which is a religious holiday in its country of origin, and not a time for drinking.

I've heard from a couple of Irish people that no one gives a damn about it. But it is technically a religious holiday.

Yep. I think monks are still the beer brewers in Europe at some places. I know of a beer place here (I think they would do custom kitchens with kegerators and build in home bars but also had beer on tap) opened next to a Christian (not Catholic) church. No idea which denomination I just know it was one where people Didn't drink so the beer place moved (they thought they would get church goers). Now if they had opened next to a Catholic church that plan would have worked. Hell the priest would have been there probably every day.

Yeah, the most famous of them are an order of monastic Catholic monks known commonly as Trappists. They are scattered all over Europe and elsewehere. Their beer is collectively among the best in the world. I've had some. It is delicious and wholly unique in its quality. Unlike your typical beer, a Trappist beer will actually improve with age similar to wine.
