Don't think as many mods are needed now either due to them integrated a bunch of blocks or functionality from mods into the base game.

Now there are more weapons (I don't think they need DLC) pistols, various versions of rifle, rocket launchers for handheld and more than just the gatling, missile and interior turrets. Fixed railguns, artillery turrets, autocannons, assault turret. Still wish there was something more PDS/AMS like; basically a slightly upscaled interior turret with a conveyor port geared more towards hitting missiles/rockets and characters.

Alot more than just that (especially if you get DLC)

and something nice they did was make it so anything that locks/unlocks with the (I think default) P key like landing gear/connecters is a 2nd check box "works with parking" so the P key doesn't lock unlock that block. Like making small grid add ons to large grids with connectors. No accidental unlocking something.

Agreed. There's a lot of added functionality to the base game and there's enough there it should satisfy all the basic needs. We just need some kind of functioning AI to keep things interesting.

And even without any of the DLC, the blocks added in that content can be built by anyone who has it. You don't have to own all the DLC to still benefit from them.

Glad they finally fixed the locking mechanics too. Was always annoying how that worked before. They should do the same with powering up/down.
