Not much is known yet. Initial unveiling is supposed to be in April at Star Wars celebration. Developed by Respawn (made titanfall and Apex). But it's not an online shooter and focuses more on single player (supposedly). Also follows a padawan who survived order 66. So I'm assuming it will either be in the style of the jedi knight series or force unleashed.

I cant believe as much as they have been pushing the frostbite engine, they are actually using the Unreal engine. Anthem would probably be in a better place if they had developed on Unreal instead of Frostbite.
Respawn seems to be a bit more autonomous from mother EA than most of the other studios... this an Apex Legends, neither on Frostbite.
Maybe that's why they aren't? It's only a guess but maybe Respawn had the choice in engines they decided to use and argued well it could be done faster and cheaper with Unreal. Do we know what engine Apex uses? Edit: it was Source. Weird. Maybe EA is withholding its initial plan to move everyone to Frostbite after all the trouble it gave Bioware. Just a theory
Forgot it released today. On steam it has a very positive rating and of the two negative reviews I read one had the line "I expected it to be like world of warcraft, I hate linear games" so that review is useless. The other one it mentioned all stuff that jedi knight 2 jedi outcast had and he probably didn't like that game. From what I gather if you liked jedi outcast (the jedi knight series really) you will probably like fallen order. I'd still wait till it on sale though. BECAUSE FUCK EA. Well also so patches are done. Because some reviews mentioned crashing a fair amount and bodies (from killed enemies) teleporting into the air.
From what I have heard it is Dark Souls lite with Uncharted and Tomb Raider with Jedi Outcast light saber combat. The only bad reviews I have seen are people saying it is too much like Uncharted or Tomb Raider not original enough. I would assume these same people would say every FPS is just a clone of Doom. I do not think they are doing any of these perfectly, but it seems like they are doing a pretty good job of combining them and then putting it in the SW universe. I will probably pick it up once I finish one or two other things.
I have no problem buying products from EA (or any company) when they are *actually good* products. If I didn't already have a backlog of other games I'm trying to get through, I would definitely be picking this up. Seems like a near perfect choice for any Star Wars fan out there. Hopefully, EA learns the "right" lessons from this endeavor.
At some point. Probably on sale. I don't mind buying a good game from EA. I just don't want to buy said game for full price from them.
My only complaint is lack of cosmetics... but that is a minor minor issue in an otherwise great game.
Oh no, I'm completely fine with a set character you can't alter, especially in a story driven game. What I want is more than just poncho's. A set of Jedi robes, or clone war jedi robes like Kenboi. Just a few more options for BD-1.
