So, this starmade game looks pretty interesting. I put up a server to play around on. Feel free to join me: impuls.mine.nu:4242 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=93148867&noPreview=1 http://star-made.org/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt_DS10OGho
It's like minecraft in space. Can the ships be build from pre-generated block sections? Or do you have to build it block by block?
Its still fairly simple, you can generate sections in xyz directions of different sizes but thats about it as far as pregeneration goes, but you can save all ships and share them though.
About those ice crystals: MINE FUCKING ALL OF THEM WHEN YOU FIND THEM! Seriously, that stuff sells for truckloads of credits! Another thing: Don't fly near suns. Not good. I went to mine small rock. After mining a bit I looked back at my ship and it was disintegrating in front my very eyes. At that point I noticed the proximity warning about sun. I lost most of my ship but it still works and the plexstorage wasn't luckily destroyed. Way too much loot. I'm enjoying it so far. Ice Crystal sales allowed me to buy good amount of materials and stuff. Gonna start building my Connie copy tomorrow.

i like the way the games going because it seems to blend what we all like about minecraft (the freedom) with the tekkit/FTB (complexity, high end building). Now yes the game is very ground floor but we seem to like to get into games at that point. I give it a 8/10 for sheer ability to just get lost with a single laser and building bigger and bigger ships.
I was super excited when I joined the game and then I realized I have no imagination whatsoever when it comes to ship design.
I don't know about you guys, but according to the tutorial videos on the wiki, you don't have to have weapons directly connecting to a weapons module. You just need to make sure that it's selected using C, then place your weapons blocks where ever you want. Might need some power modules to keep your core energy up though.
I can testify to it working; my weapons module is encased in the middle of my ship and the two antimatter guns are out front on 'arms' and they fire absolutely fine.
Pretty fun so far, got a nice sized salvage/combat ship built up with shields and the works, and a nice little airlock on back. That said, she ain't exactly pretty, I'm gonna have to work on the aesthetics.
My missile system? "Hey Deathwatch do you see that Asteroid? "Yeah.." *Fires Missile* "OH MY GOD NOW I DON'T"
So the sun slags ships that get too close. That's a nice touch. But what about a lava ship? Would that get slagged as well? Time to do some experimenting. For SCIENCE!!!
