I like Endless Space, you just have to be the Macro manager type and not the RTS Micro manager type to enjoy it. As for the pirates magicing their shit out of no where, its only really game changing early on. And its based on a random number roll with modifires heavily against the possibility but still allow it to exist. Ive had pirates 1 turn from capping my capitol only to pull out a miraciouls victory based on my card choices. If you like WC3/SC2/C&C you wont find much enjoyable in this game. Its not fast paced or flashy but it is challenging. And if you turn the Pirates on Insane, expcect presure from turn 15 or so on for the rest of the game. There are playthrough's on Youtube you can watch if you are on the fence and see if its your cup of tea prior too, but dont discount it without at least seeing it once.
Wasnt Mass Effect 3 so much hated and called bad because it had a bad ending? So I heard at least. And it makes me wonder since when is happy ending = good game and bad ending = bad game? At least if I think of anime and movies, the best are usually the ones without happy ending...
It's not that the ending wasn't happy, its just that as originally written, it left so many things unfinished.
I actually quite liked the extended ending, wrapped things up much better, filled in a lot of blanks. Spoiler Also, provides context for Shepard surviving in one of the endings (the one I chose, cause fuck that I need to help Tali build her goddamned house.)
FTL seems a big possibility so far. I'll see what else goes on sale that I may take an interest with. So far, I got ARMA 2 Combined Ops and Sins of a Solar Empire.
Sins of a solar is a good game. Do ya know if Rebellion is a stand alone expansion? Might just get that. What's this? Metro 2033 and Deus Ex: HR for only $5 each? Why yes I will take my hooker with a free barrel of candy; Thank you.
I wanted to get it, but wasn't going to pay the $20 for Sins when I have so many other games to play still...when it went on for $13 dollars though, I couldn't say no anymore. Machinarium Deponia KOTOR 2
I got Dishonered for 50% off... was tempted to get Batman: Arkham City since I liked #1, but I think I'll pickit up on console later
dont forget that the christmas sale is also coming in a few weeks. More than likely everything that was on sale in this one will be on sale, plus huge publisher packs, sales on things that werent on sale this time, plus the extra scavenger hunt things they make you do
In other words, a temporary truce between my bank account and Steam's? That sounds like a good thing, mm-hmm.
All these space games and no love for Sword of the Stars? If you're not sure whether you'll like a game or not, instead of poring over traditional reviews, go to Youtube and look for a "Let's Play <game>." If it's on Steam, you can safely assume that some nerd out there already has a copy and uploaded 20+ minutes of gameplay and commentary.
*sigh* I hate you all. Or at least my bank account and wife hate you all. Witcher 2 (Playing Witcher 1 now and, oh, look at that < $8 for the second? Yes please) And Torchlight 1/2 ... because I could and the two of them were like $15 Steam sucks...it makes me want to spend my money.
for once I'm holding back from the steam sale, I still have games from the last one I've not touched at all. Not to mention that I just dumped way too much money at star citizen and the mwo black friday sale.
