Thank you WINDOWS 8!

Seeing an immediate 10-15 FPS improvement, even in CQB!!! Now I can save up to get a really nice vid card rather then getting whatever is on sale and still have fun dropping in game too!

 

Got an FPS boost with Win8 as well. Since most of the OS's saving come in RAM usage, I suspect a lot of people with 2-6gb of RAM will see a nice improvement.

 

I've got 16GB of RAM, would it not be worth upgrading to 8 then?

8 is a definite improvement on Vista. From 7, no real compelling reason, but it won't hurt.

Well yeah that is a good deal. It's how I got windows 7 for my laptop before the video card decided to fry the motherboard (and replacing that stuff for a laptop makes so that you should just get a new computer laptop internals are expensive)

But if I remember that deal is only when taking certain courses like programming. Mine was because I was doing basic programming (maybe the comp upgrade and repair would have done it too. dunno.)

 

I've been using Windows 8 for a few months now. Not sure what bugs you're referring to. I've had zero issues since installing and I personally think it's the best Windows they've ever made.

Windows 8 is free for students? That's nice I guess if you have vista, but I dont see any reason to get it since I already have windows7. There would be no noticeable improvement and well, win8 is a new OS with all the drawbacks/bugs that come with new OS.

 

So far the only bug I've found was during the release client the EA Origin client wouldn't launch. Origin patched it a week ago. I've run mount and blade, steam, Dues ex, mass effect 3, mwo, etc. without issue.

 

hypothetically speaking, someone that is using a pirated version of win7 doesnt qualify for the cheap upgrades, correct?
