    So, I got paid tonight, and bumped heads together with Chris to build me a budget gaming rig. I literally just sent away with it and should have everything arriving within a week.

    Withour further ado :

    CPU :

    AMD Athlon II X4 631 2.6GHz 4x1 MB L2 Cache Socket FM1 100W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

    MOBO :

    ASRock AMD A55 FCH ATX DDR3 1333 AMD-FM1 Motherboards A55 PRO3

    CD Drive :

    Asus 24xDVD-RW Serial ATA Internal OEM Drive DRW-24B1ST

    RAM :

    Corsair XMS3 4 GB 1333MHz PC3-10666

    GPU :

    Sapphire Radeon HD 6570 1 GB DDR3 HDMI/DVI-D/VGA PCI-Express Graphics Card 100323L

    Case :

    Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

    HDD/PSU :

    260 GB HDD and 830w PSU supplied by Chris.


    Total : Under $300.

    Let me know what you guys think, I didn't think we could build it for as cheap as we did.

    That's actually surprising! Reading the specs, I was expecting about 450 to 500. For under 300 is really impressive!

    I'm liking this build much better than the previous.

    Now, I know budget is tight, but if you can, I'll look in to going up to a 6670. Specifically a 6670 with GDDR5 memory instead of GDDR3. There's this Sapphire one here that is $74.99 after the rebate, free shipping.

    Or this ASUS one (use promo code EMCNEGJ45 before 6/6) for $74.99 with free shipping after rebate.

    ORRR, there's this Gigabyte 6670 with GDDR3, which is only $39.99 after rebate. Even cheaper than the 6570 (which seems to be out of stock fyi). But god damn it, it looks like it is out of stock too.

    Okay, there's this XFX one, for 44.99 after rebate.

    Going with the GDDR5 gives you twice the memory bandwidth.

    Now... bumping up from the 6570 to the 6670 would help, BUT, going from that to a GTX 550 TI would just about double your performance in Crysis 2 (which uses CryEngine 3 like MWO). Right now that Zotac (those are the kind of cards I have) has a $30 mail in rebate, bringing it down to $99.

    Check out these Crysis 2 performance charts. There is 1920x1080, 2x AA, AFx16, Quality ExtremeHighRes Textures Off and 1280x720, no AA, AFx8 Quality High HighRes Textures Off

    I wish I still had my old 5770 I could give you. :sad:

    Hah, thanks for the input, guys!

    Dihm, the odd thing is, my laptop can run Crysis 2 fine. MWLL is a different story but I never had any trouble whatsoever with just straight Crysis 2.

    I WILL keep your parts recommendations though, for when I can afford to upgrade.

    I now have my case, CPU, Mobo, GPU, CD drive, and RAM. I took some photos of it. The PSU and HDD will be here Monday. ^.^

    Got the PSU and HDD. The PSU is a MONSTER at 850w and NINE pounds. Chris, you are indeed a magnificent motherfucker! Thanks for including the cables as well, else I'd have been well and truly fucked.

    Right now I'm installing Windows on it, will take pictures of my new battle station when all is ready.

    I forgot the actual power cable for the outlet.. just saw it and the psu cables for sli... let me know if you ever need those. Whoops

    I have more than enough power cables, actually. Using the one that goes to my PS3 currently. Pretty much just installing all my essential stuff on there now before I get to TS3, MM, etc. Pics will be forthcoming!
