Preloaded as well, but getting ready for work unfortunately.... Will be playing some of this tonight hahahahaha
Played a bit with the outlander yesterday, got to level 12 single player since I couldn't log in to link my game to my online account (release crushed their servers). Gunplay is pretty fun, i'll probably play around with the other classes also to see which I like the best.
Got a chance to play the engineer a little bit. Plays a lot like the destroyer. The only frustrating part is that the game doesn't mention under which circumstances it will save or not save your game upon exit
I made an embermage last night, only played for about 15 minutes or so. I would be up for some multiplayer action some time.
I'd be down, I'm probably around 9 or 10ish PM tonight playing some. How does matching up work? Everyone joins the game of the person creating at the spot they are in? Or everyone can just start a new character, either way. I kinda like the outlander shotguns, although dual pistols are appealing also.
I just found this review on metacritic. This guy needs to get himself a sense of humor ASAP. "Bought it, played it, got bored and quite frankly offended. I also own Diablo 3, which I enjoyed immensely for a while and got bored with after a while. I got offended because of all the negativity Diablo 3 has received, when it is CLEARLY a better game than Torchlight 2. I really dont understand people on this one. But, that aside, Torchlight 2 is well worth 20$ - if you dont own Diablo 3 which both looks, plays and sounds better. I understand this is supposed to be the true Diablo 2-style, but I am a long time Diablo 2 gamer and I much prefer what they did and keep doing to Diablo 3. I was going to give Torchlight 2 a strong 7/10. But the **** that goes on in the user-reviews forces me to compensate. There is no middle-ground on Metacritic. Either a 0 or a 10."
I havent played Diablo 3, but just from playing a tiny bit of the beta, I have no desire to. TL2 is a perfect successor to D2 imho.
Comparing TL2 and Diablo 3 doesn't really work, they went in really different directions. Torchlight is a more cartoony, casual, and 'fun' atmosphere where you can use mods, use single player characters online etc, while Diablo 3 is more about the hardcore death and destruction and seriousness. Its a very different feel. I'm enjoying torchlight, but I can't really compare until I've beat the game once like Diablo 3, although I feel like torchlight is going to much a much longer slog.
Maybe you can't compare them that much, I'll agree, but giving a game a zero just to offset all the high scores is a load of bullshit. He even said he was going to give it a seven until he read all the good reviews.
So I have a level 25 outlander, shotguneer style. Pretty fun, still trying to figure out what my build will be. The only issue with no respect (aside from 3 points) is that its difficult to play around with the skills to see what works well before committing, but I'm going rapid fire with some areas hex/buffs for now
