Buy it, love it, caress it, have its illegitimate child. Demo available on Steam. Huge changes, at least over Medieval 2 (I didn't play Empire/Napoleon). Lots and lots of improvements, both to the campaign play and to the battles. Lots of UI improvements at the very least. Multiplayer trailer: Sega has released a multiplayer trailer for Total War: Shogun 2. The war does appear large, though we're not so sure it's total. There are clearly some empty spots on the battlefield, and they're not even filled with corpses! Then again, we suppose "Substantial War" doesn't have the same ring to it. Gamespot sucks, but here is a decent preview which essentially goes through the demo. The video with the Creative Assembly dude is good, he gives a lot of info. IGN Preview Oh yeah, there's a multiplayer clan system as well.
There's also a Legendary game difficulty: No battle mini-map, can't move your camera from your troops. Can't issue commands with the game paused. Can't save the game (game autosaves before/after battle and before/after turns).
Napoleon is up for $7.50 today. For those of you who already bought Shogun 2 before that kickass deal
Also, Stephen, when do you want to start our Co-Op game? Tomorrow night? Anyone else want in if we can do more than 2 players?
I would join you but my army of shogun, samurai and ninjas all drowned in the tsunami. I am very sad, I had big hopes of taking over Vietnam and the Koreas.
Unoriginal Bastards Clan formed UOB Gaming clan has been formed in-game (Thanks Dihm!). Steam group is also up. Lets see if we can top those multi-player leader boards!
I played a decent amount of the Avatar Conquest last night and it worked totally fine... got my ass handed to me, but it worked.
