Welcome to the World of Warcraft chapter of the Skjaldborg

This post is intended to introduce all of our friends from the WoW community to the Skjaldborg, and to let all of our Vikings who want to join us on Azeroth know what they will need to get started.

For new members:

• You are expected to abide by our Code of Conduct. Note that the #1 rule is "Be excellent to each other," and that's for a reason. So long as you observe that rule you'll find that all the rest follow easily.
• If you would like to just join the WoW guild, any member whose rank is Viking, Berserker, Brewmaster, Huscarl or Thane has the ability to invite.
  
• If you would like to become a full member, please check our application process. It isn't onerous--in fact you'll probably find our interviews pretty amusing.

For all members:

• We are playing Horde on Faerlina. Since this is a PvP realm, be aware you won't be able to have an Alliance character on this server.
• We are using Discord to coordinate groups for quests, dungeons and raids. You can join our channel at https://discord.gg/TmkxVYs.
• For anyone new to the game, all you need to get started is an active subscription. Subscriptions are $14.99/month and include not only Classic WoW but all retail content before Battle For Azeroth. If you like the game, 3-month and 6-month subscriptions are less expensive, and if you decide to sub for six months there are some additional benefits you will receive on retail.

Your Guild Officers:

If you need help with anything, please reach out to one of the officers. All of us have the authority to handle any issues that you might run into.

• Zoga/j.p. (Thane): Organizer of the WoW branch and liaison to the guild leadership of the greater Skjaldborg community
• Dimed/Audit (Huscarl): Recruitment officer
• Ibex/Moro (Huscarl): Raid leader

Loot rules:

• Our raids will use master loot, need-before-greed. If you show up for the raid and help us kill something, you are eligible to get your cut of the drops.
• Need rolls will be at the discretion of the master looter. Even if something drops that you can use, if they ask for Ranged DPS to roll, that is who will get first pick.
• If you win something on a need roll, you will need to wait until the rest of your team gets their share to roll again. Specifically, if the master looter asks for casters to roll, and you’ve already won something as a caster, you need to wait. If though they ask for Warlocks specifically, you may still roll if you’re a Warlock.
• If you win a need roll on a Bind on Equip item, you are required to equip it on the spot. You don't have to leave it equipped if you need to get it enchanted before it will actually be an upgrade, but it needs to be bound to you.
• Greed rolls are freebies. There are absolutely no stipulations on anything you get from one. Use it yourself. Send it to an alt. Give it to a friend. Put it on the AH and make mad bank. Since nobody needed it, you are more than welcome to do as you please if you win it.
• Loot nobody rolls on will be disenchanted and the materials will then be rolled on.
