Yeah, the biggest choke point was modernizing the coding. A playable demo means that they have done that.

Stress test for live servers start tomorrow June 19 and goes till the 21.

they sent out invites so you may have one as I do. you select classic by clicking the Version tab by the play button and selecting WoW classic.

Note that they're testing the live servers. If you were in the beta stress test don't pick that, it's not running.

Well... Classic just got fucked straight up the ass with no lube.

Servers will not be separated by language. This means we will have to find a server that is being setup for primarily English speaking people. The servers over time will also organically change to a language based server as people try to find others that they can speak to. This also means we may end up on a server that over a year organically fully transitions to a french, german, or spanish speaking server.

blizzard is fucking dumb. only way I can see it.

wtf are they doing over there? it's like they are forgetting everything they learned

Maybe its because all the sane people left Blizzard long ago? I don't know. Doesn't sound good though.

Got a source on this, bro? I've looked around and can't find a Blue Post or anything official from Blizzard on it. If you're basing this off the fact that the Beta and Stress Test servers are worldwide, don't because that's the case for all Blizzard Betas.

EDIT: This is the comprehensive list of Everything We Definitely Know About Classic. Mentions nothing about regional servers (which is what I think you're talking about). So, as of right now, there has been no official word from Blizzard that I could find on this subject. This leads me to believe that, until otherwise stated, there will be the three primary Server Regions of NA, EU, and Oceanic, with potential for Asia and South America.

Well they are being separated by region at least, beyond that they will have zero separation like they have now.

Alright, so I found the post. And this looks to be a European only problem, which I guess is tough titties for them. I fail to see how this heavily effects us since NA is pretty thoroughly English speaking, especially if South America gets their own dedicated Server Region (which they probably will). If the EU wants to get all up in arms and fight for their language separation, more power to them, but it doesn't really effect us here in The Borg and that's all I really care about.

I wouldnt hold your breath on latin america and brazil getting there own servers. Latin America only has 3 servers while brazil has 5. If they are going to add a PVE, PVP, and RP server they will be almost doubling what they have now just for classic. They may just add a single pve server for each area though.

Looks like we've got one final stress test coming up on the 8th for anybody with a current sub. Annoyingly we *still* don't have a realmlist so it's difficult to make even short-term plans, but as soon as we know *where* we can play we'll loop everybody in.

They probably have to come up with completely new names so they do not interfere with the normal ones.

As I dont think they are that lazy if they are going to use existing names..

    at least I hope not

I guess if push comes to shove we can assume the stress test realms will be the same as the launch realms, since the whole point of the stress test is to make sure things will run smoothly at launch. Hopefully we'll have names this week though since name reservation starts on the 13th.

Okay, we now have firm enough information that we can make plans. Of the Eastern PvP realms, Herod is shaping up to be where the streamers plan to congregate, and Thalnos is the unofficial Brazil and Latin American server, and so we'll be rolling on Faerlina to avoid the drama those things entail.

By popular vote we'll be playing Horde, but if you want to have an Alliance alt note that you'll need to create it on a different realm, since you can't have alts in different factions on PvP servers in Vanilla.

Our initial focus will be on leveling whenever we can get a party together, but ultimately events are planned for Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.

Anyone with an active subscription/game time can reserve their preferred name on Monday. The game itself launches Tuesday the following week. If anybody's got questions, Audit, Moro and I played the stress test pretty extensively this weekend and one of us will probably be able to answer them.

    But I play alliance..

Latin American players are picking faerlina to be there unofficial server. It’s on the wow forums, supposedly there guilds are all talking on reddit and going faerlina.

The non-baz players are looking like they will be around 5% of the server on Faerlina, not exactly numbers that make me worry. Plus Faerlina is looking to be running about 50/50 horde/alliance (2000+ polled at this point) which is nice. One pve server is running about 70/30 atm.

Audit's been keeping really close tabs on who's gonna be on what realms and we picked Faerlina because it avoids *most* streamers and *most* LA players. We won't really know where the dust settles until after launch but we're pretty confident that this is the best of three options.

As far as factions, if you wanna play Alliance I'm not gonna stop you. I'm gonna have an Alliance guy too even though he won't be my main. But we had a vote about this months ago and the majority picked Horde, so it's up to you whether you wanna play with us.

Yeah I know about having picked horde already which is a bummer.

When I first started I rolled a troll shaman, then discovered the gloriousness that is the dreany butt during wrath. The server was around 1 to 10 in favor of horde and had a free faction switch event going on for a while so I took it. I just havent looked back after that. I'm actually considering rolling on the RPPvP server to get a totally different experience then what ive had before.

this would also let me make a horde character on faerlina.

ngl, my main on retail is a Draenei shaman and dat tail waggle is a significant factor.

For anybody wanting to split factions, just be aware that if you roll an Alliance guy on Faerlina you won't be able to play with us unless you delete him. You can't have two toons from different factions on the same realm.
