Just finished the angry joe video. Wow.. Im not even surprised with how greedy some of these publishers are. The boba fet card that gives 100% damage resist when jumping. This is just stupid at this point, definitely not braking anything with that. with it being around 150 to 160 total days of playtime to progress just 12 weapons fully.. well.. unless you throw more money at the game. ad another 160 days for all the card upgrading. edit also.
I am not keeping track or anything, but Battlefront 2 launches in 28 hours, 49 minutes, and 35 seconds.
Just remember if you don't spend more money to speed it up you have to play 40 hours to use/buy heros
I am perfectly fine letting other people pay for the servers for me That said, I did preorder so I have a few tricks.
BWAHAHAHAHA. So you know how it takes about 40 hours to unlock just 1 hero? EA responded to that on reddit with something along the lines of "a feeling of accomplishment" and it became the most downvoted post in reddit history. 680K downvotes. And because of that EA shortened the time by 75% so now it takes about 10 hours. And the game isn't even officially out yet.
So... Would you like win within the next few months or sometime in the next few years.. The average person that plays games does so at a rate of around 6 to 7 hours per week. So that 40 hours is more like a month worth of play time. This is not counting what ever else you may want to spend that currency on also. with that being said.. EA has taken loot boxes out of the game for now. They are also being investigated by a few government agencies for use of gambling.
I have only played for about 6 hours. I can play as Boba Fett, Bossk, Han Solo, Kylo Ren, Lando, Darth Maul, Yoda, and Rey. I cannot play as Chewbacca, Darth Vadar, Palpatine, Iden, Leia, or Luke. I have also earned over 13,000 credits. I can unlock a few crates or any of most of the heroes (they range from 5k to 15k). My preorder was the basic cheap one, because I am broke.
I have played about 5 hours, I have played Iden Hernameiforogetso. I played the campaign. It was very fun, 0 pay to win. I haven't played multiplayer yet.
So it seems that the real money loot boxes may have indeed been taken out because of gambling to vulnerable groups. Apparently a couple of the European governments that are investigating the SWBF2 lootboxes, have some very specific laws regarding games of chance when dealing with money so as to not be labelled as gambling. That being the lowest prize must be equal to the amount spent. So a 1 dollar box must be at least a 1 dollar prize. If the loot boxes are not following this then they are gambling under their law. And we all know the PR disaster that would be if a few countries smacked EA and Disney in the face with using gambling in the next super hit Star Wars game right before the new movie comes out.
