Well, Rey is obviously going to be the mary sue of the trilogy because she is the central character. Is her being a female feminism? Probably not, they're just mixing things up. Spoiler Yes, Finn and Poe made mistakes and one of them had the general, also a women, tell them off about being wrong. But they're still the central characters, the whole movie was about them making mistakes and learning from them to grow into the roles / people they have to be and to not rush in without thinking about it. Having a brief moment of glory by suiciding into a star destroyer isn't much compared to the fact the 3/4 of the trilogy main characters are male (Finn, Poe, Ben, Rey). Also at the end of the day Luke saves everyone, so personally I'm not really seeing that much of a feminist message aside from there being competent women in the storyline, but aside from Rey the storyline doesn't revolve around them.
The problem I have is that as a character I just do not find Rey that interesting. This is because she has zero character development. Starts off as a bad ass ends as a bad ass with no growth, no change in how she perceives the world, no internal obstacle to overcome. Its all just a quick mush of... being told something critical and it having zero to do with the actual plot half the time. which is one of the reasons why the story sucks.
Oh I wasn't defending the overall character / plot, just saying that I don't objectively seem it as overly feminist.
Um... did you forget that her parents are dead? Everyone knows that's shorthand for character development.
he already did, I believe he writes them under a pseudonym. http://www.veggietales.com/dvds-shows/veggietales.html
Doesn't look like there's one about healthy eating. Probably just as well though since making a salad would basically be VeggieTales: Saw.
So a movie about a chef making a salad... Chef starts to cut up vegetables.. Stops and tilts head towards viewer Says with deadpan expression. “would you like a... chopped salad”
Hmmm. I think I had to do that in high school. Make a veggietales video of some story from the bible (what I went to a Catholic school) and I ended up putting a Z on all the vegetables. Because Zorro came along.
