It says on the backer page that has been added to my account. It just isn't showing up in steam. I submitted a support request, so we'll see.

maybe there are multiple forms of stage combat? because the starfire swords the jousters hit each other. Sabersmith does make combat blades (and those things are hundreds of dollars) but they don't sharpen their blades. at least not the stuff for sell. I think the really unique stuff they sharpen. Stuff that is over 1,000 dollars.

Ren Faire shit is generally overpriced and not what you want to be buying. Who knows what steel they use or how they temper. They are gouging the 'tourist'

An Albion will eat one up in sparring though.

I don't know what the heck Sabersmith makes (I wouldn't call them battle ready swords), but their blade geometry looks borked to hell and like they wouldn't cut worth a damn.

    This ain't a 'Viking Sword'

I'm not an expert on swords or anything, but I would be little leery of a company that has two items just labeled "ninja sword" and "pirate sword".

Eh. I did always think they went more "rule of cool" then function. Not that I would ever buy a sword at those prices anyways.

    Meehh.

I need a sword with side rings and finger rings..

So much more practical for actual use.

WTF are 'side rings'? Finger ring... Are you talking smallsword/rapier and 'fingering the guard'?

Now i really want a new sword for my renfest outfit and because I'm short I'm thinking a falchion or a saber. And the functional swords always looked better to me. The actual functional ones. I feel like the more decoration/non functional ones the blade is crazy thin. Basically a 25 inch blade length or around there.

    Not historical....

    But fucking cool.

What time period are you after Feet? I can browse a bit. Also you WANT a thin blade, so it cuts. Now it needs support from a spine and good steel and a solid temper and proper blade geometry to go with it, but still. Thick blades are called maces, or hammers. They ain't swords.

You should always finger the guard. Way more effective than bribes.

The rapier was the next step from this type of sword. As during this time dueling was of greater concern so hand and finger protection was more desired. Just search 16th century swords.

Maybe we should create a thread about swords and get this one back to be about the game again.

Nah, that doesn't sound like fun.

I've heard those as 'ring hilt' or 'ring guards' but never 'side rings'.

I mean thin enough that they look like you could snap them with your hands. With shares probably the earlier ones are what I'm going for. I think 1600s with those.

That style of falchion is what I'm thinking of. I think that one is modeled after one used in the 1500s. Apparently some styles the blade looks more like a machete blade.
