OMG this game fucking rocks!!!! Can.. Not...Wait... for the full release. Will try to update w screenshots/etc Gameplay is a HUGE jump up from Bad Comany 2. Movement is much more realistic, and say hello to bullet drop and physics again. The audio as well as the graphics (even at Alpha level) are AMAZING. The guys move like real people.. you have to use your hands/cant shoot while jumping over objects over a certain height. Recoil is back in force. RPGs make the greatest sound ever and the propellant trail is fantastic!!!! Server select screen and stats are all website based now. MASSIVE improvement over the old school system. I cant say enough good things about this so far despite being a bit unstable Rush will once again be part of BF3.
Also, in the demo's (1st player) what looks like scripted movements for knife kills/etc is how you move in multiplayer as well. Character models are fantastic (hard explaining)..
I was actually in alpha was like a week long (stopped on Aug 1). I'm pretty sure its fine for me to say (The big NDA poster said no pictures and videos rofl) it was web based and used EA's steam version called Orgin. You could track stats, friends etc from the web panel (They called it battlelog). I was surprised how alt tab friendly it was.
Open Beta Starts next week (Sept 27 or 29). Jizz link Heads up, Origin required, for those anti-Origin
Battlelog is certainly an improvement, but it's really weird having it all outside of the game. Would be nice to be able to adjust your kits and stuff when you aren't in a match. All the servers are either full or giving Code 1 errors, pita to find a game to play in.
So... the game release and this thread kind of died. I personally feel that they've turned BF into CoD with this release, but it's still a fun game... On hardcore.
Heartily agree. It's missing that.. I don't know. BIG feeling that the previous titles had. I was really hoping for more 2142 in my BF3. Even on the larger maps, you still end up feeling like you're playing paintball in a hallway. ZERO options for strategic maneuver.
