From the what i been reading gearbox had little to do with the making of the game, They out sourced most of it to many different company's. Then GB put it together. Perhaps Sega should of gave it to a developer who wanted to make it.

Hopefully the upcoming aliens game by creative assembly will be a better, well they cant make any worse.

Well that is what happens when you take on a project and then decide/find out you do not have the time to make it your self due to making.. was it Borderlands 2... Any way and proceeds to send it out to anyone who wants too and then do not bother to check in with them regularly.

To bad but i'l guess it can be used as a poster child for how not to make a game.... Together with Duke Nukem Forever.

I tried playing on my own.

Then I ran in to human enemies.

Ugh, I can't play this game alone. Magnus, I'm going to hit you up to co-op this shit with me.

You guys, we really need to organise a small forum get together and play AVP 2000 instead. I played a little on a small game at the weekend, it was hilarious fun, need to reduce the game speed a bit mind. I absolutely love being the alien, its excellent being able to crawl on ceilings. It is so fluid and the graphics don't detract from the experience at all.

I approve this message. Doesn't AVP 2000 have steam integration? I also loved doing the "skirmish" mode and just seeing how long I could survive.

Yes, AVP is on steam and fully integrated into it. The game appears to run well, even on modern machines, though with the game speed set to 100% it is way way too fast; aliens, for example, move so fast you can barely hit them with smart guns. I reckon a forumwide game with a bunch of aliens vs a bunch of marines and the game set at 75% speed would be a good laugh.

Skirmish is just downright unpleasant for me, its dark and horrible and there are just acres of bad things trying to murder you. As a marine, you have night vision, but by equipping it, you lose the motion tracker which is even more scary.
