I'm finally going to finish Samurai Champloo. When it first came out, I was rudely interrupted by Basic Training, and I've never managed to get back to it until now. Thank you, Netflix.
Finished Sword Art Online. I liked it, going to give Season 2 a solid shot, a little disappointed how short it was though.
Not only that. It was an anime centered around the idea of an MMO. The possibilities were literally endless, and they just blew through the story. They completely missed what should have been the defining aspect of the anime, the MMO.
I agree it could have been drawn out much longer and more in depth. But honestly it is one of the few TV shows that I actually really got into the characters and cared about them. They are apparently coming out with a new "season" in July for something called Phantom Bullet.
Also.. I already finished the 1st season and the Aelfheim season... I could not stop watching them. Stayed up until 3AM the other night watching them. So, are there any other animes that are to the same level of writing and characters?
One of the few shows to ever make me feel much feels was Robotech/Macross, when Fokker died. Granted I was a shit-nosed kid at the time
Really enjoying Gundam Unicorn for the plot and animation quality... but I don't think I've hated a protagonist this much since evangelion.
I love episodes that make me feel like that. And hate them. But any episode of anything that can elicit a strong emotion from me is something I will appreciate.

True. But this isn't like a "Man I hate this person because he is a detestable person" this is "I hate how this charter acts, he's unrealistic, he actually doesn't even have a personality, why do I care about him?, stop talking and get in the robot" kind of hate.
Oh, well, that's Gundam for you, I guess. I tried Gundam, couldn't get into it. I was just making an independent statement about episodes that leave you full of feels.
Watching Log Horizon. It's pretty good. Where SOA focused on the characters and their cheesy love story, LH focuses on the game and the challenges the players need to overcome after being trapped in the game.
The only Gundam series / movies worth watching are listed below... But that's just like your opinion man. Gundam the Original series Gundam Original 3 part movie series Gundam War in the Pocket (by far one of the best animes ever) Gundam the 08th Mobile suit team. everything else is just crap. also the award for most mind fucked anime of the season goes to. Brynhilde in the darkness. If you liked Elfen lied you would like this anime as well. also what the hell is with all the sports and freaking card fighting animes this season, on wait summer break is coming up for japan.
If anyone has watched Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, the part with the Tachikomas near the end makes me blubber like a baby every time. I highly recommend that series. It is most excellent.
