Arma 3 organized play

For those who have Arma 3, I would like to get a day where everyone gets on and we have some organized group game play. Whether that is in a single mission or one of the dynamic maps. Varg has a fantastic server running 24/7, so we can play at any time. Those who are interested please post here with days and times you would be available.

For those who are interested in Arma, but are not sure if they want to spend the money yet, please post. If we have interest, we could set up an Arma 2 Free server so people could try out the game and how it plays. If people really enjoy this type of game, maybe they would be interested in getting into Arma 3.

I would love to get some large combined arms games going in a dynamic game.

You know I'm in. I'll get things set up to host ARMA 2 - Free on DasServer.

Also want to test to see if I can host a regular ARMA 2 server and have A2Free players connect. That'd save a few GB on the HDD.

OK, looks like we have some interest. I did not see anyone posting days that would work for them. What works the best for people:

Tuesday Evening after 8 EST
Thursday Evening after 8 EST
or
Weekends?

I personally can do every other weekend unless it is after 9 EST, then I can do it any day.

 

I can make evenings on Tues, but any other day am only available (to play) from about 5-9:30 EST.

I can do server-stuff just about anytime I the evenings after 5p EST. You know how to reach me.

 

Tuesday evenings would be fine for me.

 

ARMA 2 Free server up. Filter for "SKJALD" and you'll find it. No maps/mods to DL. Just connect and have fun.

Use #missions to vote for new maps (I think).

 

Weekends would work best for me

I have decided to purchase Arma 3. My patience for a future sale was no match for my willpower once Gihz and Vary talked it up for awhile.

 

Mods running on the server that you'll need to have on your client:

Included:

TMR Modular Realism: Better scopes, working bipods (!!), and disposable anti-tank missiles with reticles that @!#$ing work for a change.
TPWCas: Enemies will take cover whether you hit them or not. You're able to suppress them now by laying down fire in their immediate area.
Weapons Pack: Includes some modern weapons like the SCAR family, the M107, the HK417, and a few other toys.
Additional Required mods (for the other mods to work).


Extract the zip directly into your /steam/steamapps/common/arma 3/ folder. It may prompt you to merge the "userconfig" folder. If you're not comfortable with that, manually move the files from the /userconfig/ in the .zip to your own /userconfig/.

Once that's done, open steam. Right click the "ARMA 3" entry in your Library list and select "properties".

Under General, select "Set Launch Options".

In that box enter:
