    A bunch of screenshots were released today. Showing more of mechlab (and an atlas with some lostech on it like ER large lasers). And other menu type screens, barracks, co tracts and such.

    There is lance on lance skirmish. I don't think there is co-op (at least not at launch).

    I think gauss rifles are in. Just super rare. And I may have seen double heatsinks.

    I think It's staying in 3025. Might go two or 3 years past that but not much. Certainly pre helm memory core. Just any lostech you find wil be ultra rare. Propbably never on the market. The Argo (your ship) I think you find and salvage and since the ship itself is partially lostech (it is one of a kind) maybe the lostech weapons will be found clearing/opening areas of the ship.

    Like here's a screenshot of an atlas in the mech lab. With ER 'LL and I think double heatsinks.

    I hope HBS allows mod compatibility so people can add mechs and maps later.

    I believe all the mech files are .jsons and thus very easy to mod (even the engine value) so though you can't change the engine rating in game you can outside of it. So you can also give mechs weapons, hardpoints make all the variants that arn't in the vanilla game but exist in 3025 and the chassis. No idea about maps.

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/241584042

    Battletech part starts around an 1 hour 19 minutes.

    spider, wolverine and stalker are in the skirmish.

    it is more geared towards people who don't know anything about battletech.

    and apparently the action camera will be on a slider so you can turn it down or off.

    Hmmm... interesting. I did not expect Star League Lostech to make it in at launch. Forget Clan tech, Double Heat Sinks (even IS versions) have always been the greatest game-changer for the franchise.

    An interesting picture for those of us familiar with the franchise. You can't usually mix and match single and double heatsinks.

    The only way you could mix them was with the Post Helm core Experimental versions. And they were most certainly the biggest of the game-changers in the IS for a couple decades.

    well, except it's mechwarrior, so the water around the ice would be on fire. But otherwise correct.

    If they make sequels/prequels/expansions I actually want to go backwards in time before going forward. Explore some star league era stories maybe 2nd succession war. Go to first time mech were seen on the battlefield.

    Now I want the 1st succession war. Everyone was involved. Combine, capellans, Steiner and davion.

    Yeah, would love to see the earlier stuff get more exposure. While the 1st Succession War was all about Star League-age armies and lots of nuking people from orbit, the 2nd Succession War was the first to really see the consequences of lost technology. It wasn't common by that point, but you could still find Star League tech operating on the battlefield like some kind of white unicorn among the rabble of downgraded forces. Kind of gave a somber tone for things to come.

    I just can't wait to get my hands on it. This is the only game I'm genuinely excited about releasing this year.

    Somewhere it was stated that the leopard dropship we have in this is modified and carries 6 mechs instead of 4. I guess it gives up the fighter bays. So for the campaign we might actually be able to bring 6 mechs into each mission (I'm guessing on that). But if the commander is in every mission and they allow you to bring a lance that is 5 right there.

    heres the starting mechs.

    [...]
    "StartingPlayerMech" : "mechdef_blackjack_BJ-1-STARTER",
    "StartingLance" : [
    "mechdef_commando_COM-2D",
    "mechdef_shadowhawk_SHD-2H",
    "mechdef_panther_PNT-9R",
    "mechdef_urbanmech_UM-R60",
    [...]

    I believe the blackjack if missing JJ thus the starter designation.

    Though I guess that is what the starting lance was during the beta (some people dive deep into the files). So who knows if that is still the starting lance.

    Regarding that atlas with the mixed single/double heatsink from Tyler (one of the HBS guys).

    Without getting into the Atlas II in the video, I CAN tell you my thoughts on double heat sinks as a future proofing measure:

    1. Your engine doesn't get 10 free double heat sinks, because that way is just generally bad design space unless the goal is to make some mechs (or engines) ALWAYS better than others.
    2. In turn, that means mixing and matching doubles and singles isn't a bad thing, because at that point it becomes "What can I find, and what do I have the slots/tonnage for?"
    The T stands for "Tyler", because I made it. ;) I envision it as not a prototype so much as a one-off production model for an SLDF guardsman who was also a highly placed noble. Kinda how the Pininfarina P4/5 is a Ferrari Enzo but so customized as to really deserve its own designation.

    Since LBX-series cannons are a buttload less interesting without ammo switching, and ammo switching would be a tall order for launch, UI wise (since only the 10-X would exist in game, and only on the Atlas II), AND the PGI Atlas we have doesn't support the hardpoint locations the AS7-D-H has (E.G. I can't put an AC on the arm cuz there's no prefab to attach)... I made the HT. Which, in my own little headcannon, is the result of a member of the SLDF hybridizing a standard AS7's weaponry (like the AC20) and the more advanced chassis of an AS7-D-H.

    Cuz he wanted the new tech, but the old punch.
