    And yes, a Clint. I like a challenge :lol: Plus when I get some funds I'm gonna swap that AC/5 for a PPC and some heat sinks.

    That leads me to ask... I didn't notice anything in the first post about mechs/equipment during character creation.

    You can start with anything up to 4mil CBills.

    I'm pretty sure we'll see infantry. Check some of the other P-Hawk variants, I think there is one the sneaks in under 4mil.

    Also, 3025 tech only for initial equipment. Canon mechs, no customs to start with.

    Sarna doesn't list costs for each variant but I'm pretty sure http://www.solaris7.com/ does.

    They don't show the PHX-1D or PHX-1K tho, so you'll need to check MegaMek for those, if it lists prices.

    Risk in a Clint? I am in a VTOL and well its been nice knowing you since I am playing as myself also. Oh and my VTOL was under 2mil so I am open to some friendly loans and very "fair" rates of interest.....

    I did just make a Cent with 12 double heatsinks 3 med lasers 1 small laser lrm 10 (1 ton standard lrm 1 semi guided) 1 tag 1 ppc and 4 jj. standard gyro engine and structure. just under 4 mil.

    I'm out of town now, but will be back Friday. Just checking in.

    As Skwi and others were saying: starting funds 4mill Cbills, 3025 tech only for starting mech, customizations can be handled in-game through MekHQ, tech available will closely follow timeline (rare exceptions may be allowed where it is deemed appropriate; ie retrotech), no advanced experimental tech will be used (at least not by us).

    Loading up MekHQ and checking prices on there is your best bet for finding what is available. Dihm; I know for sure there is a P-Hawk model that can be bought for under 4mill. David has one I believe. I forget which model it is, but you could get it and then upgrade it to whatever you want.

    I'm rushing to get Megamek Pack 2.5 done in time (when I can spare the time) so we can have a few more options available in campaign... also... new maps.

    For those wanting to pilot dropships; sorry, I looked into the "ultra-light" ~200ton dropcraft and there is no way i can feasibly justify our use of them. We would have to first own a jumpship (not happening any time soon) and even then, we could only have probably 2 of them (they take up cargo space). Also, they are too OP in my opinion for any one player to use (~4-5k BV w/3025 tech), so for now the answer is no. Dropships will be "owned" by NPCs but the NPC may be controlled by one of us in special cases when appropriate.

    No worries. Despite what MSwarrior may have taught us, JJs can go on any mech. They just get more costly an investment the bigger your mech is.

    I just want to swap my Clint's AC5 for a PPC and 2 extra heat sinks. That shouldn't be too expensive.

    Barfle. Just like every MechWarrior here, I took Jumping Jack. I'll just pick an interim mech until I can get my Wolverine.

    Magnus, what are your feelings on Age of War mechs? Technically, I could buy a Firebee FRB-2E and have 1.5 mil left over. BUT, it's an Age of War mech, and the factory ist kaput.

    If not that, I'm leaning towards the Vulcan VL-5T (used it once, it's sorta meh and ugly as sin, but 4 MLAS, Flamer, and MGun is pretty nice) or a Whitworth (undecided on LRMs or SRMs).
